As a result of the UK government’s vaccine mandate for all social care workers, 60,000 unvaccinated employees face losing their jobs this winter.
The news comes after Health Secretary Sajid Javid told them to get the Covid-19 vaccines or face getting sacked. The mandate requires care workers to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by November 11th.
However, due to the mandate, many care homes across the country could face closure due to losing so many members of staff. “The sector is in crisis, this could be the final straw for many. residents will have to find new ones, causing anxiety.
“It’s not too late for the government to delay the jabs rule,” said Unison general secretary Christina McAnea.
The Department of Health said in a statement: “Vaccines save lives and while staff and residents have been prioritised, it is our responsibility to protect vulnerable people.”
In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Sajid Javid said: “If you work in a care home you are working with some of the most vulnerable people in our country, and if you cannot be bothered to go and get vaccinated then get out and go and get another job.
“If you want to look after them, if you want to cook for them, if you want to feed them, if you want to put them to bed, then you should get vaccinated. If you are not going to get vaccinated then why are you working in care?”
The chair of the National Care Association, Nadra Ahmed, has warned that they are not “anti-vaccine”, but that this will add to an already present staffing crisis.
“It seems completely perverse that care home workers who are unvaccinated will be able to work on November 10 but not on November 11,” Ahmed said.
The mandate has faced substantial backlash from NHS workers and healthcare providers alike, with many warning that the measures discriminate against medical freedom, removing any choice over whether people want to get jabbed or not.
There is a fear that the plans could cause a mass exodus of healthcare employees who do not want to get vaccinated leading to staffing shortages, which in turn puts the health and wellbeing of the public at risk.

‘Why do you work in Care if you are not going to be vaccinated’, Sajid Javid asks.
My question to him would be ‘Why would you put yourself through an untested & experimental procedure just because you work in one of the lowest paid jobs available?’

Tomorrow I am giving blood and am told they are desperate for donors but you have to wear a mask, I am not going to wear one but will attend leaving it up to them but really why make it so controversial. Those who choose to wear one crack on but don’t enforce rules when they don’t need to be.
Very good point and a great way to make a stand and bring their discrimination out into the open. You may also care to ask them if they are accepting blood donations from people who are partaking in an experimental drug trial? How can they be sure the blood is SAFE! I hate that word now.

And there you have, in jumped-up Javid’s BBC diatribe, the best exhibition of the contempt these creeps have for hard working care workers – or any workers, for that matter.
What a complete POS. These valuable workers were heroes last year, but unwanted now. This so-called government needs to be gone, now. Imbeciles and traitors, every one of them.
Oh no, we care workers were not heroes. Only nurses were heroes. Only nurses were given priority in the supermarkets. It was only over-paid and over-professionalised nurses which companies were lining up to give free food too. But hey, we do a better job looking after people than they have for a very long time.
More insanity. What else can you call it? This Javid says get jabbed to protect the people in the care home. What’s he mean? He means if you’re jabbed you can’t infect them.
But that is simply not true.

In fact the jabbed are claimed by some to be super spreaders.
He’s talking an untruth.
He’s talking nonsense.
That’s madness.
It is all mad and all led by crazy clowns like him.
When are people who say patently absurd things going to get laughed off the stage and thrown out of jobs they’re clearly unfit for?

Firstly, the government already pushed the date from 11 of November to the 24 of December-it’s in the gov.uk.Secondly, they can’t just make people get vaccinated. They always leave the tiny loophole in these mandates- in this case, the self-exemption from vaccination: there is the form to fill in that you self-exempt from vaccines until 24 of December. A lot of things can happen until Christmas.. vaxxed people will start getting ill, the shortage of workers will hit the employers, and the government will have to change the rules.

The shortage of workers is the whole point of the pandemic and lockdown. How else could they float the IR4 and the Great Reset? Its all about that. The covid and vaccine are just convenient tools to thank big pharma for their funding.
