Farmers have taken to the streets en masse in several places in Europe. To ensure MPs hadn’t lost touch with the people and public sentiment, Caroline van der Plas told the Dutch House of Representatives why the massive protests were happening.
Caroline van der Plas is the founder and party leader of the Farmer Citizen Movement (Boer Burger Beweging or “BBB”) and a Member of the Dutch Parliament (“MP”).
Yesterday, she posted a video of a speech she made during an agriculture budget debate. “At its core, this is why farmers are protesting – they are being destroyed,” she tweeted.
Van der Plas’ speech is in Dutch, but independent media outlet Nieuw Rechts has published a write-up which we have reproduced below, adding a video of a farmer’s speech at the end.

Farmers are not only stirring in the Netherlands, in recent weeks farmers have taken to the streets en masse in several places in Europe. But what exactly is the reason?
BBB leader Caroline van der Plas explains the issue to the rest of the House of Representatives. According to her, it is obvious what motivates the farmers.
At its core, farmers are being “destroyed,” according to the BBB politician during the budget debate for agriculture. New Social Contract (“NSC”) MP Harm Holman thought that Van der Plas used rather big words, but according to Van der Plas her choice of words is more than justified.
“Mr. Holman has been a farmer himself and has of course seen very well around him what is happening in families, what is happening at kitchen tables, how many tears have already been shed, how many terrible consequences all the misery has had for farmers. That has been destroyed. I am not going to say that Minister Adema did it or that Mrs van der Wal did it. It is a combination of everything that has happened in the past 20 or 30 years, the terrible campaign commercials on the radio about scrap milk, for example. In it, dairy farmers were accused of demolishing their cows.”
The stigmatisation of farmers continues unabated, Van der Plas notes:
“Mr. Holman is also well aware that dairy farmers do everything they can to take care of their animals. They are busy at night and at dawn to take care of their animals, when there is a sick cow or when calving is needed. That’s how it spread. Even in education, children are taught things that are no longer allowed at all. Battery cages, for example, can still be found in textbooks. Children come home crying with those school books. They are called ‘animal torturers’ and ‘murderers’. Some children are punished at school because they say to the teacher: ‘That’s not the case at all, because that’s not how it works.’ Then they should keep their mouths shut.
“In politics, farmers are portrayed in a certain way. Then people always say: ‘no, we’re talking about the system.’ No, but those farmers see that as: ‘You’re not talking about the system, you’re talking about me. You’re talking about my wife, you’re talking about my children. You’re talking about my father, my mother, who have been sitting here on this ground for decades. That’s what you’re talking about’. That’s destroying.”
In addition to the stigmatisation, farmers are also saddled with the consequences of political decision-making:
“Then all those rules are added, so that they simply no longer see how to do it, while their European colleagues still have the freedom to spread the manure above ground, for example. Red diesel may still be used. There are plenty of other rules. They see that, especially the farmers in the border regions. They look out of their kitchen window and see the German or Belgian farmer doing things that they are not allowed to do themselves. That destroys people. That’s destroying.”
On Thursday, Dutch political commentator Eva Vlaardingerbroek posted a video of a Dutch farmer giving a speech: “We are done talking. We’re done with these fake problems created by you politicians. You are trying to destroy farmers all over Europe, but just like the farmers in Brussels today, we will fight back!”

This morning I heard most of BBC Radio Four’s Farming Today programme. I heard it from about 06:40 and it was all about the farmers’ protests. The hidden hand of BBC Verify and Marianna Spring was obvious to anyone who has had the benefit of reading the articles by The Expose and is aware of their tactics.
After a report on the protests in Europe and giving us details of the EU’s concessions made to the farmers’ demands, it switched to the British angle and they interviewed a university expert on EU agricultural policy, then a representative from the farmer’s union, the NFU, then a rep from some other farmers’ body.
Both of these representatives claimed that British farmers didn’t want to protest. The NFU man said that the NFU had not been given a mandate from the members to take action and he thought there was a better way.
Then they interviewed a farmer from Somerset who had organised protests in the form of blockading supermarket distribution depots.
Then they spoke to the man who set up No Farmers No Food.
The last man to be interviewed was a farmer.
In five out the six interviews, the BBC reporter directed the interviews onto the threat of infiltration by the far right – a standard tactic – throw in the far-right label, the other one being anti-Semitism.
To be fair, in the first part that I heard (I missed the first ten minutes) they did say both the far-left and far-right were trying to take advantage of the protests, but the BBC seemed, to me, to be trying to convince farmers that the protests are motivated by sinister political actors with the aim of the BBC being to put off farmers from joining protests.
If that last interviewee was genuinely a farmer, then he was specially chosen for his views. To me, he was a BBC Verify plant (no pun intended). He told of how the No Farmers No Food web site was promoting crazy conspiracy theories such as climate change denial, an anti-Net Zero message, crazy talk of the elite and governments planning to cut food production and starve people. He said sensible people don’t believe it – my view – the aim of the BBC being to put off farmers from joining protests. They saved him until last so that the BBC Verify propaganda sticks in the minds of the listeners.
So the BBC made sure that their slant, i.e. the far-right claim, was hammered home with it being raised in five out of the six interviews. Another point was the BBC is now reporting on French farmers, German , Polish and others, but never have, and still won’t even mention Dutch farmers. My view on why that is, is that they can talk about the other farmers protesting against tax on diesel and other issues that are not too controversial, but they don’t want to mention the tyranny of land confiscation, since that exposes the WEF \ UN agenda of planned famine and backs up those who say it is happening – the people that farmer calls crazy conspiracy theorists.

A nice summary but I can’t go near the British Bullshit Corporation anymore with their far right, left nonsense. My blood boils. At the end of all this I hope they cease to exist.
I agree. I am not able to use their “Listen again” feature because I won’t register with them and nearly all of Radio Four’s output sickens me. It is 95% mind control, deep state propaganda.
I have just remembered something else that was said in the programme and I think it was by the last interviewee – the plant. It was something about how farmers shouldn’t believe (or possibly should be be suspicious of) claims from people organsing protests that they are trying to help farmers. Again, this fits my view of the BBC trying to put farmers off protesting.
Another thing, on the point of not protesting and the NFU representative saying there is a better way. I think it was the man who created No Farmers No Food, who said that they had been negotiating for ten years and it has got them nowhere.
Hi Watcher Seeker, thank for your comments. They are very revealing and having watched, listened and read similar tactics being used by the BBC, it seems to me you’ve correctly analysed what the BBC programme was doing. You have exposed the BBC!
Hi Rhoda, I’m sure you will spot this, but I’ll just mention it here for others, the use of the word “sensible” – if you don’t believe the things said by “conspiracy theorists” then you are “sensible”. It slips easily into a sentence and is a very subtle, mind control word – mind control that is not spotted by the casual listener but it has its effect.
I’ve seen it used twice against Dr. John Campbell. Recent comments on The Expose attacked him, but he is an honest and genuine man. He did initially believe in the official views of the dangers of the coronavirus and he believed in the vaccines, having taken them himself, but he listened to truthers and saw the light. For over year now he has been a great truther, his is a strong supporter of Andrew Bridgen and others. He is angry about the cover up of the truth about the vaccines and said that false information led him to taking the vaccines which he now regrets. As a truther, his YouTube channel now has over 3 million subscribers.
I saw comments on other YouTube channels attacking him and they said of how he used to be “sensible”, but isn’t now – a total inversion of the truth.
On 8th October last year, the BBC did a hit piece on him on Radio Four’s “More Or Less” Programme.

They accused Dr. John Campbell of being wrong about excess deaths. The programme began with a mention of the Nobel Prize for the creators of the vaxx (wow, if they got the Nobel Prize then it must be good!), then a “listener’s” question.
I very much doubt that it was genuinely a listener’s question. Why didn’t this listener contact the programme about his earlier videos about excess deaths or the one about the Moderna vaccine causing heart problems in 1 in every 35 people who had it?
I suspect that Marianna Spring and her BBC Verify team had been watching Dr. Campbell’s videos and waiting for him to slip up to give them the chance to attack him.
I saw his video before he took it down and he did begin by saying that it wasn’t his analysis of the ONS spreadsheets. He said of how the spreadsheets were complex and only an Excel expert could analyse the data, so he had taken the analysis from another site and he hoped it was correct. As far as I know, the BBC hasn’t attacked him on any other of his videos, because they can’t – he is usually impeccable in checking his facts. He is sensible.
About Dr. John Campbell and his channel, they used phrases such as “fringe views” which I thought were pure character assassination.
Something I didn’t make clear – that listener’s question. They said that a listener had contacted the programme to ask them to investigate the data presented by Dr. John Campbell in that particular video. “More Or Less” is a programme that is all about answering listeners’ questions on news that has numerical and statistical content.
About my suspicion of the last interviewee, the farmer who warned of crazy conspiracies. Have you seen the video in which John O’Looney tells of the time he was interviewed by the BBC? He is an undertaker who regularly collects bodies from hospitals. In the early days of the scamdemic, the BBC asked him to do an interview. They told him what to wear, what questions they would ask and what answers they were looking for. This was in the early days of the scamdemic when he believed the scamdemic was true so he was happy to go along with it. Later, he saw through the bluff. So the BBC does prompt people and of course will broadcast only the views they are looking for, or if they do broadcast an opposing view, it is only so that they can immediately attack it and try to discredit the speaker.
