Earlier today, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, delivered the State of the European Union address – known as SOTEU – to the European Parliament.
She warned that Europe is on the brink of multiple critical challenges, including a health crisis. “We are on the brink – or even at the start – of another global health crisis,” she said, citing disinformation as a major threat to progress on diseases like measles and polio.
She also declared that “battle lines for a new world order based on power are being drawn right now,” emphasising the urgency for Europe to assert its place in a hostile global environment.
Politico has mocked her speech by quoting what she said and then interpreting “what she meant.” You can read Politico’s take on von der Leyen’s speech HERE.
We wonder if anyone outside her performing seals in the EU Parliament is listening to her, let alone taking her seriously.

Thanks so much for saying, ‘We wonder if anyone outside her performing seals in the EU Parliament is listening to her, let alone taking her seriously.’ You saved me the trouble of doing so.
I’m not just fed-up with her, I’m simply bored and indifferent. I don’t care. Every time I look through my emails there are directions to watch videos telling me WW3 is breaking out next Spring in Europe. Starmer becomes more revolting by the hour. People in Gaza are being killed in the most inhumane way but the world’s civilised countries don’t intervene and stop it. How can this be? It was so obvious that Hamas could not have flown their little motorised lawn-mower type of machines over the fence into Israel and set up a prolonged invasion with lorries and diggers without compliance from the country that boasts its surveillance and military are the best in the world, unless there was compliance from them. They were invited.
The world has gone mad and very bad. It is being destroyed by evil people who are charging towards war and destruction to cover up the dreadful crimes they have committed.
