Lindsay Hoyle, the speaker of the House of Commons, has called for the UK government to put a bill through parliament to tackle “misinformation” on social media. This is an abuse of office and an attempt by Hoyle to censor dissenting opinions and free speech online.

A recent article by the British libertarian political magazine Spiked Online has highlighted remarks made by the Speaker of the House of Commons on BBC Radio 5.

Speaking to 5 Live’s Matt Chorley on Monday, Hoyle said: “Misinformation is dangerous. … [Social media is] bad when people are using it in a way that could cause a riot, threats, intimidation, actually suggesting that we should attack somebody … What we’ve got to do is make sure its factual, correct.”

“The government will have to think long and hard about what they’re going to do with social media and what they’re going to put through parliament as a bill to act,” he said.

Lindsay Hoyle is abusing his position as Speaker to advance a “distinctly political and authoritarian cause” of censorship and silencing dissenting opinions online, Spiked said.

Who gets to decide what is “misinformation”? The Government? Social media companies? They can’t be trusted.  We have seen numerous examples in just the past few years of opinions and news stories initially condemned by politicians and social media companies as “misinformation” or “disinformation,” only for their truth to be revealed later on.

State clampdowns on misinformation are driven by an elite desire to silence dissenting opinions and censor inconvenient facts. Hoyle is effectively urging the government to force social media platforms to dictate online speech.

The Speaker is meant to be a non-partisan and largely administrative role that ensures the smooth functioning of the House of Commons.  However, Hoyle is exploiting his position as Speaker to urge the government to introduce a new regime of online censorship.

But that’s not all.  While Hoyle has been coming out hard this week against the phantom threat of “misinformation,” he has shown himself far less willing to face down the actual threat of Islamist extremism, Spiked said.

Hoyle is for advocating for a government “bill” to clamp down on dissent and debate online but is reluctant to face down the threat of Islamist extremism, as evidenced by his actions in parliament.

Not only are Hoyle’s actions a threat to free speech but also parliamentary democracy, which is his duty to protect.

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.

Governments lie; the police lie; the businesses lie; people lie; we all lie. It all started from the governments or the owners of the governments, the banksters, and now we are in an irrational state of affairs. We no longer know who is telling the truth, the truth is censored or labeled as misinformation while the disinformation is claimed as truth, and the Ministry of Truth is trying to criminalize open discussions so it can spread more disinformation with impunity and control people. The banksters are out of their minds; they are suffering from dissociative disorders stemming from long years of incest. We should show them the finger and demand correcting the history since 1694 (The Bank of England) and exposing lies on all major wars including the war of independence (1775), the fraudulent atomic bombs, the fake moon-landing, the false flag 9-11, and the condemic. We demand ending the privately-owned central banking systems, nationalizing the assets of the owners of the central banks, the 13 banking families, and arresting them for crimes against humanity.

Lindsay Hoyle? Surely one man’s idea is hardly a reason to take action on anything. I think that is called a dictatorship. Did the UK become a dictatorship and not tell its citizens.? Strange.

Yes a good idea, start with sage, Boris, Hancock, and all the medical professionals that supported them, and all the politicians who supported them. That would be a wonderful start as we all witness the ongoing deaths of family and friends post covid vaxxes.

I would argue that the establishment put out much more misinformation than the people labelled conspiracy theorists.

That´s true, because we conspiracy theorists tell just pure and honest truth.
Establishment doesn´t like truth, but it can´t hide it, because we can see through their miserable efforts to try to hide it.

For the life of me I can’t understand what people see in anti social media. The brainwashed masses are using it as the new nazi snitch line anyway. Look at someone the wrong way and the airheads say they’ll put you on Facebook or whatever. It should all be abolished. It’s a load of rubbish.
