Matt Goodwin gives his reasons to be optimistic about 2025

British political scientist and commentator Matt Goodwin is optimistic about 2025.  He sees a shift in politics and culture, particularly in the US with Donald Trump’s re-election, which will challenge left-wing radicalism and the elite class.

Trump’s administration will provide “proof of concept” for challenging the elite consensus, inspiring similar changes in other Western nations.

Goodwin believes that woke ideology, including Critical Race Theory and radical gender ideology, is on the decline, and those who cling to these ideas will look out of touch.

Also on a positive note, there is a growing scepticism of legacy media, with many people realising its corruption and bias, which has given rise to a new system of alternative media to challenge corporate media’s dominance of the narrative.

Across Europe, there is a growing opposition to the broken elite consensus, with millions of voters rejecting the status quo and seeking change.

In the UK, Goodwin is optimistic about the potential for a grassroots against the political class, with a growing community of people seeking a genuine alternative to the Uniparty (the GreenLibLabCon Party) in Westminster.

Happy New Year: Reasons For Optimism

By Matt Goodwin

I wanted to write a brief note to wish you a Happy New Year and suggest a few reasons why we should all look ahead to 2025 with a sense of optimism.

This might strike you as odd.

Across the West, many people will be feeling gloomy about the direction of travel, the state of their country, and the future.

Here in Britain, for example, we live under a deeply unpopular Labour government, a stagnant economy, a disastrous experiment with mass immigration, a growing crackdown on free speech and free expression, and a visibly fraying social fabric.

Many people are looking ahead to not just the next year but the next few years with a profound sense of unease and malaise.

But you know what?

In recent weeks and months, I’ve become much more optimistic than I used to be.

Why?

Because, for a start, I sense the beginning of a profound shift in our politics and wider culture  – a new spirit, a new mood, a new zeitgeist, if you like.

Just look around.

In America, with the re-election of Donald Trump, we are about to see a strong pushback against left-wing radicalism, woke ideology, uncontrolled immigration, broken borders and cultural chaos.

What we also see in Team Trump is not just a focus on these “second-order problems” but also a strong desire to finally tackle the “first-order problem” that lies behind many of these problems in Western states – namely, a left-leaning managerial class that controls and directs the institutions.

In America, the legacy institutions and the elite class that imposed much of the madness we have been subjected to – from teaching our children that little boys can become little girls and little girls can become little boys to the endless obsession with “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (“DEI”), from repudiating the identity, history and heritage of Western nations to reshaping public institutions around “anti-racist” (read: anti-white) policies that are in fact racist – are about to be overturned, reformed and challenged like never before.

And what happens in America will, one way or another, unfold elsewhere, providing “proof of concept” to many other nations.

Try to imagine just how different the political debate will be five years from now.

Don’t think we can deport foreign criminals and protect our borders?

“Trump did it,” they’ll say.

Don’t think we can root out DEI policies and stop the endless politicisation of our public institutions?

Trump did it.

Don’t think we can take on the managerial overclass that is fully invested in maintaining and spreading the woke status quo and the managed decline of our nations?

Trump did it.

Don’t think you can reform, fire and restructure your way through the Deep State?

Trump did it.

Will I personally agree with everything President Trump does over the next five years?

Of course not.

But will his administration provide proof of concept when it comes to challenging the elite consensus in a wide range of areas?

Absolutely.

Which is why his re-election will inevitably change the zeitgeist in Western nations.

And this is why, as we enter 2025, woke ideology – including Critical Race Theory (“CRT”) and radical gender ideology – are now also on the back foot.

Increasingly, the people who cling to these divisive and discredited ideas will look utterly ridiculous – like that soldier found decades after World War II who thought the war was still going on.

And those who fail to realise this, from publishers to celebrities, will look just as out-of-touch and ridiculous, too.

Like an insular cult that is completely adrift from wider society, preaching only to the fanatics and mentally unstable.

Also on the back foot as we head into 2025 are the legacy and elite institutions that presided over the broken status quo, failed to challenge it and stopped listening to or even respecting the people.

When it comes to universities, for example, across the West there is now widespread acceptance, particularly since the Islamist terrorist attacks on Israel on 7 October, that there is something fundamentally wrong on campus.

That, as some of us have been saying for years now, elite universities in the West have become rotten to the core, they’ve been hijacked by radical and extreme ideologies that have politicised these supposedly neutral institutions and shut down free speech, free expression and academic freedom.

Increasingly, in other words, the debate will shift from “Do we have a problem?” to “What should we do about the problem?”

And one answer, I suspect, which we can already see forming in America, will be to root out radical political dogma like DEI and get these taxpayer-funded institutions back to what they are supposed to be: meritocratic, neutral, objective, grounded in academic achievement, not racist policies.

There is also a new (and in my view healthy) scepticism of legacy media, which used 2024 to continue destroying its reputation, giving voters good reasons to distrust it.

Increasingly, as we watched supposedly “neutral,” “objective,” and “truth-led” media organisations lie and mislead their way through the presidential campaign, first downplaying Joe Biden’s visible ill-health and then downplaying the very visible fact that Kamala Harris was unfit to be president, the media class haemorrhaged public trust and confidence.

This wasn’t about voters being duped by “misinformation” so much as voters realising how the legacy media and its key gatekeepers have become openly corrupt, biased, and no longer interested in truth and objectivity.

We have now entered what some call a new era of “post-journalism” where many so-called “journalists,” who would like us to think they are objective truth-tellers, are in fact thinly disguised political operators, using their immense cultural power to impose a political agenda on the rest of us.

Think, for example, about how prominent journalists in Britain – from Jon Sopel and Emily Maitlis to Gavin Esler and Adam Boulton – have acted in recent years, berating “populism” and, let’s be frank, ordinary people who do not share their views while simultaneously calling for television channels that are more in tune with the public mood to be shut down, comparing the likes of Donald Trump and Brexit to Nazism, and having a moral panic when anybody from Nigel Farage to Georgia Meloni dares to suggest something “conservative,” like how we should control our borders or invest in pro-family policies.

It’s these people who have done more than most to discredit and undermine the public square. They’ve made legacy media look utterly ridiculous and now, finally, large numbers of people can see it.

Which brings me to another reason for optimism. Across the West, there is now emerging a new, serious, sustained and credible ecosystem of television channels, long-form podcasts, YouTube shows, Substack writers, alternative publishers, new universities and more – which all have enormous reach and influence and are helping change the wider culture, swinging the pendulum back to what we might call Common Sense.

For the first time in history, we now have a class of writers, intellectuals and influencers who are neither beholden to legacy media and the legacy institutions nor dependent on them. This is a very significant development and one that should also give us optimism.

In 2025, I will directly support this through my own television show on GB News, ‘State of the Nation’, but I will also do what I can to support these wider efforts, from giving talks at new research centres to joining discussions on new media.

But everybody will have to play their part. If you really want to change the culture and politics then it’s on you, too, to support and spread this new ecosystem.

And across Europe, meanwhile, we can also see this growing opposition to the broken elite consensus and status quo.

As in America, millions of voters are saying loudly and clearly that they’ve had enough – they’ve had enough of the broken borders, mass immigration, woke policies, anti-Western dogma, and continual refusal of the governing class to invest in their own people and respect their own nations.

From the Netherlands to Italy, Sweden to France, rising numbers of people, including young people, are rejecting the officially approved narrative among the elite class.

They don’t want to stand by and just watch their nations, identities, culture and heritage be cast aside; they want to, in the words that best symbolise the arrival of this new zeitgeist, “fight, fight, fight.”

And in Britain, too, while we will continue to live under a truly dismal Labour government that has consistently made the wrong decision at every turn, at the general election this year and in the months since we have also seen the beginnings of a new grassroots revolution against the political class – and one that looks set to go much further than anything we’ve seen before.

Something, in short, is happening out there. We can all sense it. We can all feel it. The people are once again restless. They are looking for a genuine alternative to the Uniparty in Westminster and a new opportunity to exert popular sovereignty against an out-of-touch, insular and neglectful elite class.

And in 2025, from defections, by-elections, membership surges and County Council elections we will get more evidence of this revolt and we will track it in detail right here on this [Matt Goodwin’s] Substack, in the one place that has consistently been ahead of the curve.

Which brings me to my final reason for optimism – our plans. Over the next year, with my team, I will continue to expand our fast-growing community so that we continue to evolve into a mass movement with more than 100,000 members.

Chat GPT tells me we will reach this watershed around the summer, entrenching us as one of the largest and most read Substacks in the UK and Europe, and among the most read in the world.

More subscribers means more support. More support means more reach. More reach means more influence. And more influence means more power.

So, look, if you want to help us out by forwarding this email to friends and family, telling people about us, or upgrading with the 25% New Year discount (just click on the post below to get it) then now would be a good time to do just that.

Read: My Top 10 of 2024 – and a 25% discount to join us in 2025, Matt Goodwin, 27 December 2024

But for now, I hope I have convinced you that there are a few good reasons to meet 2025 with a smile on your face and a renewed sense of optimism.

Because I do believe, for the first time in a long time, that we can now see the seeds that will grow into something truly great – a new culture, a new politics, a new country, a new era.

And I do think, for what it’s worth, that this community of ours has an important role to play in helping bring that change about.

Happy New Year to you all.

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.

Hrmmm………..Hope-ium?
I do not believe in well-intended groups any longer. Especially not on the internet. Still, the idea is very sympathetic. But a little lame, I think. What if the internet goes down for instance? IS IT NOT BETTER TO STAND UP AND SPEAK INDIVIDUALLY? When have the most profound changes taken place in human history? When groups sat down together or when individuals spoke up no matter the consequences? My “sense of optimism” tells me to opt for the latter. At least for now.

Optimism is nice, but confidence in the right especially Trump is simply nonsense. Trump is the epitome of corruption and elitism. The so-called right versus left conflict is a man made deception to keep people divided. And it works very well. “Woke” is a meaningless word politically that is another deception to keep people divided and this tactic is working as well. Trump is a part of the Big Pharmaceutical connection. He is bought and paid for by the 1%. He pushed through “warp speed.” Critical race theory emphasis is another con. Most people don’t even know what it is. The struggle between the haves and have nots is real and exists in every society. People have always been at each other’s throats because they think someone is getting something that they’re not. Those in power use these tactics to stay in power and to keep people stupid. And, by the way those leaders on the left do the same. The key is for people to educate themselves and just say no to anything that divides them. Remember, no government has any money, it’s the people’s money. They are taking your money to finance wars, harmful drugs and their pockets. I’m just keeping it real.

I agree with you,
trump is a tramp in real life.
The prompts they build are made of their “immigration” and their own greed. NO WAY. Any “politician” is a parasite living off of us. No more theater. WE KNOW YOU DO IT FOR MONEY. PATHETIC.

The first thing to pop up is the Deagel report and the level of depopulation, I didn’t notice the UK population reached the level of only 17 million. Did you?

Fear porn, DIVERTION.

But I tell you more. The history is falsified, there is no explanation for things like who and how built a channel as long as 363 (!the number) miles in the US breaking through of old forest and tall limestone mountains just in 8 years, it would have meant they did 1 mile in 8 days, at the time when – as was told – our ancestors were just in wars with the native Indians….

So let’s see what they don’t want us to know about. Antarctica treaty, more lands with who knows what kind of living creatures.
Silica life was possible and more durable than carbon-time with longer life span and different needs. Bamboo is 88+ % silica = silica life is or was possible.

No explanation who and how built those worldwide gorgeous, beautiful (and just too big for us to be comfortable) buildings. No explanation why those buildings never could have a working fire place or why there was no toilets.

There was a time when an allegedly ‘mud-flood’ covered half of many buildings as deep as 10 meters or more but the building still stands (the force was not enough the destroy them).
There are plenty of old photos around 1800-1900 showing completely empty big cities (but even back then they could use tech to modify photos, not as comfortable and easy like Photoshop but could be solved). Back then the buildings were to high to be comfortable and heat, the lamp posts were to high to start light every evenings.
There is proof (many) that giants lived here among us, different sizes.

I thing one of the biggest lie is the fallen angels mating with human women because of the impossibility. I think that beyond the Antarctica ring (so well protected you can’t go there freely to make an independent expedition), there are other type of living things and they can go here or could.
We are carbon based, fragile and our life span is not long. Even the new bible research told us that there were people (Elohim) with a longer life span and advanced knowledge we saw as gods. The Isaiah part was written for several hundred years, assuming that there were more people using the name but if we assume that some could have been different, it could have been just one person. Same with the khans, Turkey museum, Khans’ sculpture with dates showing impossibly long lives.

I think they falsified history appx 200 years ago, I think that at least 2 different r. a. c. e. s. of creatures lived here, we carbon based humans and silicon based giants with a longer life span and different needs (toilet, heating, eating, etc). We could co-existed for a while. Their presence could explain how pyramid were built, why there were no loos in old castles or working fireplaces and so on and so on. Also that why the Antartica ice ring is so protected or why the flat earthers are such enemies. If you ever joined to Weiss(!) flat earth movement giving away your mobile or smart watch, if you wish to survive, CHANGE THEM and ‘run’. Now they have a list due to Weiss – who should be treated with a nice DEW attack or similar.

FU/Abi,

I agree with you on multiple fronts-the “fallen angel” lie, the “Antarctica treaty” and the “Flat Earth” truth-just for starters…

But, can you expand on the 17 million figure?

As for “a nice DEW attack”, I believe these are happening all around us.

As for the “Deagel Report”, well, this is a hard one, is it fiction? Is science fiction even fiction? Perhaps it once was, but as time goes by-morphing into fact.

It’s really difficult to know how the Deagel report gets their numbers. At the rate of people dying from the shot, their will affect the decrease in population.

Conspiracy realists took it seriously as Deagel reported on weapons of different countries, too like how many and what type of combat flights, etc they have.
It is an intelligent site – which of course – can publish fake info but the professionalism behind other published info were spot on.

The Deagel (CIA’ tool or interest by the way) Report played Nostradamus to forecast the population of different coutries, it happened around 2019 or so, and the worst population reduction was forecasted for the UK with a -76% (if I recall well, above 70 anyway) and next was the US with a little better numbers then all of the bigger (wealthier) western countries and Australia. The forecast predicted it for / till 2025. Even here there was 1-2 articles about it.
A bit later they removed this page but many saved it in time.

“There was a time when an allegedly ‘mud-flood’ covered half of many buildings as deep as 10 meters or more but the building still stands (the force was not enough the destroy them).”

They set off rhythmic explosions in river deltas to cause liquefaction. Timed it using constellations, opened a bunch of dams and the elites took the land, infrastructure, businesses and wealth. Business practice, like Gaza, or NC.
They immortalized the concept with Atra Asis, which is a testament to how long they’ve been pulling the crimes.

I liked your post. Nice to see people who get it.

“Goodwin believes that woke ideology, including Critical Race Theory and radical gender ideology, is on the decline, and those who cling to these ideas will look out of touch.”

Script does that.  Script starts on the male side of chaos.  So, lots of patriarchy.  Order is the female side, so you go from male to female, or transgender.  That part is over now.  We’re supposed to believe that the ‘dawn’ people are working for us as they fight the evils of the left hand.
Sumerian skylore shows a horse and a stag meeting at Andromeda.  The horse is order, the stag is chaos, and the rainbow was put in the sky to symbolize the covenant (actual rainbow pride).
We just hit Jan 1.  That’s Capricorn, or Sumerian Anu, or Roman Janus.  He’s the goat-fish.  The goat brought in the most wealth on land, and the fish in the sea, so ‘most high’, or ‘most wealthy’.
The basic script works like this:
God says ‘let there be light’ and creates twilight.
God is equal parts light and dark, so is twilight.
Twilight gives birth to the day, also equal parts.
Evening consumes the day, death, and the day is reborn, 2nd coming.
Enki and Damkina from Sumeria are twilight.  They are also Adam and Eve, Hades and Death, and Yah-Weh (2 beings 1 body).  Eve, as death, is a swine in ancient Sumeria and that is why pigs are associated with death and Eve gets an apple.
Adam, as Hades, is a winged pather (king of the dead).  Eve is also known as Gaia, which is the new UN religion.  Hades is a statue that sits outside.
They are ‘flesh-eaters’.  Flesh of the fruit (money), and flesh of the meat (material wealth).
Adam is also Satan and Jesus becomes Lucifer (Enlil-ship from the Enuma Elis) after the 2nd coming.  Think of a bank and it’s currency.
He pushes put the money changers, in order to install the new currency. He leads the armies of heaven (commoners don’t live in heaven), on their white horses (commoners don’t ride white horses). He slaughters his own worshippers (suicide king), fall from the inside, purposeful collapse, etc…

It’s all a script, and it’s very very old.  It’s a business practice.  Religions start on equinoxes, yet remain the same at the core.  Taurus=bull, Aries=ram, Pisces=fish, Aquarius (Adam/Enki)=Gaia (Eve). Now you know why ‘christianity must go’; it’s Gaianism time now.
Eve is evening, so you’ll see her as blue or black.

‘If you are not one of us, you are but of the flesh’
No one asks what one of us means.
Flesh is to be consumed.

‘When you accept Jesus, God puts his seed in you’
What do you do with seeds? Grow it. And, what do you do with the fruit it produces? Consume it.
If you are the seed, then….

Leave the matrix.

“is that your religion? Gaianism and astrology?”
Symbolism is the only true religion. Something created this place, and they tease us every day using the simplest of math, daring us to figure it out.

“Sun worship is likely the second oldest religion”
It’s banking and business personified with math, nature and the sun.
For example, you control what you survey, so your eyes are your realm of influence (business), and that’s why we see figurines with bulbous eyes, and it’s also why Saturn sacrifices his ‘eye’ to “incorporate”.  It’s the ‘Holy See’ remember?  Same with people flashing the ‘one eye’; they incorporated.

“Its not a question of whether “Christianity must go” as you suggest.”
Yes it is.  They force their new religion at every ‘great reset’.  Taurus was the bull calf, Aries was Moses, Pisces Jesus, and Aquarius is Enki/Adam/Satan/Big Bank.  Enki is the ‘Great One’ and the source of ‘One’ Health, and ‘One’ everything.  The equinox is always sacrificed, as in the worshippers, which is why Christians are persecuted at every turn.
People who refused the new religions were slaughtered.

They will destroy christianity themselves, and that is exactly what we see the Vatican doing.  They’re forcing their new/very old Gaianism.
The 1100ad ‘reset’ around the Crimea featured all the same stuff, black plague used to sicken people, wars, etc…  That one was happening to force Christianity on people that didn’t want it.  One religion is used against the other, and we the people suffer.

In the antediluvian setup, they only had 4 houses in their covenant.  Adam was ‘Lord Earth’ and his Eve was Earth/Nature.  Together they gave birth to ‘Land and Sea’, otherwise known as Mary-Utu.  Mary-Utu became Marduk, Horace, Jesus, etc…
After the flud disguised as a flood, a 5th house was added (the green one).

Lucifer is the light bringer; want to be a star?  Want to shine?  Lucifer is your gatekeeper to Hollywood.  Lucifer is Enlil from Sumeria and he is known as the ‘door’.  Wonder why so many celebrities say it?  It’s been going on for a very long time.  Lucy is also the ‘goat’, wealthiest (clue).
Or, we can simplify it with the ‘Shining’, where the covenant profits off of people’s talents.  Same stuff.
People would already know about the system, but religions.  We have to coddle fake religions while we watch wars and psychopathy go on and on and on?

Not if we care about each other.  If we care about each other, we stop each other from being lied to and used.   I’ll take the hit.  Hate me all you want, just wake up.
