The following is a collection of articles that have caught the attention of Stop These Things.  It includes a scientific explanation of why wind and solar energy can never be a source of power that a country needs, and articles highlighting how, worldwide, “renewable” energy sources are more expensive than other energy sources and the beginning of the end of wind and solar power in the USA.

Stop These Things’ Weekly Round Up: 1 June 2025

By Stop These Things

The subsidised wind and solar chickens are coming home to roost: power prices are rocketing out of control in any jurisdiction attempting to run on sunshine and breezes. Adding mega-batteries only makes matters worse. With the ever-present threat of total blackouts, rent-seekers and their propaganda machines are still attempting to deflect and bury what occurred in Spain and Portugal last month, but the mob always works you out.

Which brings us to this week’s roundup.

First up, Guy Mitchell taps into the laws of physics – the very same immutable laws that mean dilute, diffuse weather and sunshine-dependent wind and solar can never amount to meaningful power generation sources. Ever.

Meanwhile Down Under, hard-pressed households and embattled businesses are being lined up for another 10% hike on what are already the world’s highest power prices and, as the team from Jo Nova explains, the worst is yet to come.

Read: Bang! Price bomb sinks Transmission lines: Plan B says let’s pretend cars, home solar and batteries will save “Transition”, Jo Nova Blog, Jo Nova, 27 May 2025

In this two-part essay, Russ Schussler places focus on how subsidised and intermittent wind and solar have totally wrecked once orderly power markets and why you pay the ever-increasing and exorbitant price for that entirely deliberate destruction.

In this video, David Turver takes a look at the same phenomenon in the UK – where colossal subsidies to wind and solar are driving out cheap and reliable gas-fired power and, you guessed it, consumers are paying the price.

David Turver: Renewables Are Much More Expensive Than Gas, 17 May 2025 (5 mins)

We continue that theme with Bjorn Lomborg’s piece which establishes, without a shadow of a doubt, that the principal cause of rocketing power prices is, always and everywhere, subsidised wind and solar.

Alex Epstein details the beginning of the end of the wind and solar scam in the USA, with Congress making its first concerted attack on wind and solar subsidies, with legislators clearing the path for reliable and affordable nuclear power generation instead.

And, as Robert Bryce details, the expansion of nuclear power in the US has just received the President’s executive endorsement, with a suite of orders issued by Donald J. Trump directed at bringing an additional 200 GW of nuclear power generation online by 2035, more than doubling US nuclear power generation.

About the Author

Stop These Things started in 2012 as a kitchen table group of citizens concerned about what is happening across rural and regional Australia, by the harm being done by the wind industry, in partnership with governments. Over the years, the group has become “angered by the scope of the wind power fraud … appalled by how wind industry supporters dismiss victims, ridicule those who have different opinions and vilify those who are opposed to industrial wind power generation … appalled by the dishonesty of the wind industry, its supporters and those who operate within it … [and] disappointed that the many who claim to have been made sick are segregated and dismissed.”

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.

All true but keep in mind that it has little to do with the so-called benefits of “green” energy … it’s about making life unlivable and totalitarian control.

Show me one source of electrical grid energy that is not subsidized. They all are. Nuclear may be the most heavily subsidized.
The problem is not the type of energy being produced, it’s the centralization of that form of energy. Centralization means control. Control means… they can charge you whatever they want because they have you over a barrel.

I’ve lived on a decentralized solar power system for 40 years – the solar panels are on the roof of my house, not in some distant, corporate, solar panel farm. Over that 40 years my per watt energy costs have gone down by about 2,500%. All of that is contrary to the thrust of this article.

It seems apparent that this demonization of decentralized power is being implemented by the corporate energy sector. It’s sad to see the Expose being manipulated in this way.

Agreed. I’ve had rooftop solar for 10 years, power 80% of my energy needs, including two electric cars, and have enjoyed utility bills one quarter that of my neighbors. I’m only a couple years from paying off the system through energy savings, and my warranty will last another 15 years. We’re being dominated by monopolists and thieves and of course there will be those who don’t give a flip. They want as much as they can consume with no regard for externalities. They like to hear they’re not part of the problem, regardless of the reality.

Who ever tries to claim Solar is not a viable energy source is an ignorant NUT JOB. I been living 100% off the Energy grid for 10 years now using Solar EV panels and Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries for my energy storage. And I have not had a single utility bill either in over 10 years. So suck it up butter cup you are so wrong.
