UK Decline, a website that is collating official data from several sources, has summarised the amount of money that the UK government has wasted on projects that have failed.

The UK Decline website is an independent public-data project that aggregates official UK government statistics to track national and local indicators of economic and social pressure. It provides live dashboards and maps covering several metrics.
UK Decline sources all data from official bodies like the Office for National Statistics (“ONS”), NHS England, Home Office and HM Treasury, aiming to make scattered public data easier to compare and revisit without editorial commentary.
“The site has a clear editorial angle: it tracks pressures that point to institutional, economic or local decline,” its “About” page states.
One of the website’s pages is dedicated to failed government projects and the amount of taxpayers’ money the government wasted on those failures. Below are the top 7 taken from the site; all these projects wasted more than £1 billion each.
