A comprehensive corruption review has identified “red flags” in more than 130 covid-related contracts worth over £15.3 billion, equivalent to nearly one-third of all such spending during the pandemic.

The review, conducted by Transparency International UK, analysed over 5,000 contracts and found systemic weaknesses and political choices that allowed cronyism to thrive.

Transparency International UK’s investigation, ‘Behind the Masks: Corruption red flags in covid-19 public procurement’, identified 135 high-risk contracts with a value of £15.3 billion, featuring three or more corruption red flags.  The review highlighted systemic bias, opaque accounting and uncontrolled pricing in the government’s handling of covid-19 procurement.

The key findings are:

  • 135 “high-risk” contracts with at least three red flags, warning signs of a risk of corruption
  • 28 contracts worth £4.1 billion went to firms with known political connections.
  • 51 contracts worth £4 billion went through a “VIP lane” for companies recommended by MPs and peers, a practice deemed unlawful by the High Court.
  • Almost two-thirds of high-value contracts (worth £30.7 billion) were awarded without competition, often justifying the suspension of normal safeguards as necessary for rapid procurement.

The findings suggest that the UK government’s Covid procurement response was marked by systemic weaknesses and political choices that enabled corruption, eroding trust in political institutions.

Chief Executive of Transparency International UK, Daniel Bruce, stated that the scale of corruption risk in the former government’s approach to spending public money during the pandemic was “profound” and pointed to more than coincidence or incompetence.

The report’s release comes as the public hearings for Module 3 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry began on 9 September. “Transparency International UK, as part of the UK Anti-Corruption Coalition, has core participant status in the inquiry. This report will be used as the basis for their evidence for Module 5 (Procurement) due to commence public hearings in Spring next year,” a press release stated.

Transparency International UK’s report should come as no surprise to those who have been following the work of the Good Law Project, a non-profit organisation that has been highlighting the corruption surrounding personal protective equipment (“PPE”) contracts since late 2020.

While previously it was a hobby culminating in writing articles for Wikipedia (until things made a drastic and undeniable turn in 2020) and a few books for private consumption, since March 2020 I have become a full-time researcher and writer in reaction to the global takeover that came into full view with the introduction of covid-19. For most of my life, I have tried to raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit. There was no way I was going to sit back quietly and simply let them do it once they made their final move.

Try this …

You save a pound 50 years ago that pound would have bought you 3-4 loaves of bread. Today the value after compounding interest will not really buy you 1 loaf.

Government contracts, $1B, inflating economy by money printing the end job on long term contracts rises substantially so you pend up paying multiples of this.

Thatcher selling off all the government owned housing stock … now they pay rents for poor people to live in them when as they owned the stock they only had to pay for upkeep alone.

Those few items, but there are many more of how government has never been accountable for its spending.

All consequences of a Keynsian economy where government borrows ever larger amounts to pay for the same thing. Just so people are aware a Keynesian economy if it does not expand it goes bankrupt so know full well prices will rise.

This is why people should get their value out of the economy, but everybody to their own.

No government agency should be able to give indemnity to any private company. That is where this has gone wrong. It prevents people from getting fair compensation for the injuries they have suffered and loved ones lost and society gets dangerous poisons put upon them.

Over here in the US, the number of vaxxes for childhood vaccines is out of control. I used openvaers to look at the total number of injuries and deaths for TDAP vaxxes so the mother did not have too because it is mandatory for school.

I have to keep an objective mind on this even though I disagree she should take it.

I picked the TDAP with the least reported injuries and deaths and advised the mother on the one I would pick. With the caveat in that those who seem to get injured and die have had multiple vaxxes at the same time. Seems the risk rises.

Felt sorry for the mother though – a school mandating this sh!t … told her to keep the school letter for if this goes wrong you can prove the coercion by the school.

Also bear in mind the mother has had the depot shot and has a scarred face from a clot that could have appeared in more lethal parts of the body. So the mother has a history of adverse vaxx events and the child is genetically connected.
