The US Agency for International Development (“USAID”) is facing a shutdown as the Trump administration has ordered nearly all staff to be placed on leave starting on Friday, with overseas missions being closed.

USAID Funds Bill Gates, George Soros, World Economic Forum
The Biden administration had requested $64.4 billion in discretionary budget authority for 2025 for State, USAID and other international programmes.
But on Monday, 3 February, the Trump administration ordered the closure of USAID’s Washington D.C. headquarters and is now threatening to shut down the agency permanently.
Contrary to mainstream depictions of the agency as a provider of philanthropic assistance for soup kitchens and health clinics, USAID is a tool of Deep State foreign policy used to exert influence in other countries under the guise of humanitarian aid.
USAID is frequently involved in laundering taxpayer money through projects that support globalist strategic interests, which might not always align with the stated goals of development or poverty alleviation.
The agency covertly supports regime change operations by funding opposition groups, non-governmental organisations (“NGOs”), and initiatives that align with globalist political and economic objectives, thereby meddling in the internal affairs of sovereign nations.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt recently condemned the “insane priorities” that USAID has funded around the world.
“I don’t know about you, but as an American taxpayer, I don’t want my dollars going towards this crap,” Leavitt said.

Bill Gates
The United States, through USAID, has been a major contributor to Bill Gates’ international vaccine initiative, GAVI Alliance, since its inception in 2000.
In 2020, USAID announced a commitment of $1.16 billion to GAVI for fiscal years 2020 to 2023.
More recently, the US pledged at least $1.58 billion to GAVI over the next five years for its upcoming replenishment period.
These contributions, combined with previous funding, likely exceed $2 billion.
Gates’ GAVI was one of the top recipients of USAID grants in 2024, according to the Association of American Physicians & Surgeons.
The Association shared a screenshot indicating USAID gave GAVI $4 billion for that year alone.
George Soros
In 2017, the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation claimed that George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (“OSF”) had been the primary implementer of USAID’s foreign aid since at least 2009, Sputnik reports.
However, the collaboration between Soros and USAID dates back much further.
A 1993 USAID document reveals that the agency had already partnered with Soros’ Management Training Program to train 30 professionals from Bulgaria, Estonia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
By the late 1990s and early 2000s, Soros’ network of NGOs played a central role in the wave of colour revolutions that swept through Eastern Europe.
One of the most notable instances occurred in 2003–2004 when Soros’ International Renaissance Foundation partnered with USAID to support Ukraine’s Orange Revolution, Sputnik points out.
In the years leading up to the uprising, the US funnelled substantial funds into the region, spending $54.7 million in 2003 and another $34.11 million in 2004 on so-called “democracy programmes” in Ukraine, with USAID acting as a key conduit.
Soros’ influence extended beyond Eastern Europe.
In April 2018, the legal watchdog Judicial Watch exposed USAID’s role in backing Soros’ globalist agenda in Guatemala, where OSF allegedly spent approximately $100 million fomenting unrest in Latin America between 2015 and 2018.
Further revelations emerged in October 2018 when Judicial Watch obtained documents showing that USAID had collaborated with Soros to finance radical left-wing activists in Albania.
Reports indicate that in 2016, USAID allocated $9 million to a campaign run by Soros’ East West Management Institute.
The scale of Soros-linked funding continues to grow.
In 2024, then-President Joe Biden requested nearly $30 billion for USAID in 2025, underscoring the massive financial resources flowing through the agency – many of which have historically intersected with Soros-backed initiatives.
World Economic Forum
According to the World Economic Forum (“WEF”), a future is coming in which global citizens will “own nothing” and “be happy” about it, and the United States will no longer be the world’s leading superpower.
From 2013 to 2022, USAID invested approximately $26 million in multi-year agreements, according to the WEF’s website.
In January 2024, House Republicans introduced legislation, the ‘Defund Davos Act,’ to specifically block the State Department, USAID and any other federal agency from funding the Forum.
A report from the time confirmed the US “has spent millions on the WEF over the years.”
“Forcing American Taxpayers to fund annual ski trips for insular, global elitists is absurd – not to mention reprehensible,” said US Representative Scott Perry (R-PA), who led the bill. “The World Economic Forum doesn’t deserve one cent of American funding, and it’s past time we defund Davos.”
“The wealthy WEF globalists should not receive Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars,” said Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany, an original co-sponsor of the legislation. “The Defund Davos Act would ensure that US tax dollars are not funding the World Economic Forum and their reset on our way of life. I thank Congressman Perry for leading this important effort.”

Today we learned how USAID was funding 6,200 journalists around the world, including the BBC. 9 out of 10 outlets in Ukraine. Almost 1000 independent news and quasi-news organizations funded around the world for pro regime content. Meanwhile, they starve the Expose.

International Public Notice: News Gagged and On the Take

Politico, assumed to be a profitable and independent news organization, turns out to be a liberal propaganda sheet largely funded with grants and aid from USAID. They missed their payroll this week because their funding was cut.
Not only that but the AP and BBC and numerous other illustrious print, internet, television and radio news sources and news commentary shows were on the take as well, to the tune of millions of tax dollars per year.
They were using our own money to promote their agendas, their selection of “news”, and their political views. They were entrenched and arrogant about it, too. They had no apparent commitment to the ideals of journalism. No concern about providing fair and balanced news reporting. Forget truthful reporting.
But to be fair, they haven’t been able to produce independent journalism since the First World War, when the industry accepted “voluntary” Gag Orders as their bit for the war effort.
After the war, the collusion between Big News and the mercenary-military was consolidated with “special relationships” being developed that guaranteed that cooperative news media would get first dibs on stories, advertising income, grants, staff payola and much more.
They all felt free to lie, distort, manipulate, and bury news stories at will, so long as whatever they produced conformed to the “narratives” was given to them by the Pentagon via “approved and trusted” news agencies — the Rothschild’s Reuter’s News Service and the BBC, the Rockefeller’s Associated Press, and the news feeds from other news sources known to be in The Club.
If the Pentagon wanted to demonize Russia this week, these Press Organs would demonize Russia. If the Pentagon wanted to demonize China or Iran or Iraq or Barbie or Ken or anything else, these pillars of the Mainstream Media Establishment would deliver the “news” on time and it would be made to order.
Over time, a privileged and immoral caste system built on obedience to expedience and “whatever we were told” became the norm. The ideals of real journalism were forgotten and actual independent investigative reporting became a historical anecdote, so much so that journalism is no longer taught as a profession.
“Freedom of the press!” has often been a rallying cry for those engaged in giving away and selling out freedom of the press for lucre and advantage, but it is apparent from the foregoing, that any freedom of the press started fading away in the aftermath of the so-called American Civil War, and by World War I, the fix was in.
It should not surprise us that these pillars of the Mainstream Media were soaking up millions upon millions of tax dollars, when they have long been de facto mouthpieces for Pentagon policies, No doubt the logic was that if they were going to be flak agents for the DOD, they might as well be paid by the government.
Turns out that the entire time that Donald Trump was accusing these organizations of producing “Fake News” — they were; not only that, but they were being paid by government departments and agencies to do it.
We are pleased and not surprised that the guaranteed seats of these “news” organizations at Pentagon briefings are gone now, and they also being kicked down multiple pegs at White House press room events. No doubt this turn of events is literally as The New York Times commented, “very concerning” — for them.
Their behavior and lack of standards should have been concerning for all of us a long time before this.
Free and self-governing people must have access to the truth to make solid and well-reasoned decisions. That is why Freedom of the Press was enshrined among those clearly enunciated protections of
the Federal Constitutions. Somehow, both the mercenary-military and those in the business of providing us with news, forgot that.
Now these Mainstream Media giants have cause to remember, but it’s really too late. Even such liberal pages as The Huffington Post earned higher marks for independence and balanced reporting— and for paying their own bills, too.
If all these major Mainstream Media organizations lost all credibility, all their ad revenues, and all their privileged placements as a result of these discoveries, the American people would consider this long-delayed justice for their Breach of Trust, but also turn a jaundiced eye on the Other Half of the Equation — the Department of Defense and the DOD, which used war time exigencies as an excuse to control and direct the civilian press and undermine freedom of the press in this country.
Changing the Players in this game will not be enough to stop the game. Short-circuiting the payola, exposing the sources of the problem, teaching journalism instead of “communication arts”, and encouraging independent investigative journalists is a start. Getting the Pentagon and DOD out of the business of providing “narratives” to news agencies is another big chunk. Some kind of regulatory oversight over the news agencies (AP, Reuter’s, BBC, etc.) might be helpful, as well.
During the last several years the phenomenon of “Mockingbird Media” has led to widespread distrust of all media sources; it has been unsettling to hear the same words endlessly repeated by supposedly different and independent news sources.
Now that these major news outlets are off the government payroll, they will have to compete for stories and build their own narratives, so we may see some actual journalism again. Maybe.
