Mothin Ali is seeking to become the deputy leader of the UK’s Green Party. If elected, he would be the only Muslim serving as leader or deputy leader of a major political party in England and Wales.
Ali is not without controversy. His public statements indicate he is an Islamist, rather than a Muslim. An Islamist whom the Green Party appears to favour.

Ali, who is of Bangladeshi descent, previously worked as an accountant and taught Islamic studies. He is now a Leeds City councillor representing the ward of Gipton and Harehills. He is a long-standing critic of the UK government’s Prevent counter-terrorism strategy, arguing it embeds Islamophobia.
He began his political campaign for the Green Party in 2022, representing one of the UK’s poorest areas, with a significant Muslim and minority ethnic population. Hyphen reported that according to the 2021 census, more than 65% of the population are from minority ethnic backgrounds and 40% are Muslim. Ali was elected in May 2024, succeeding Labour councillor Arif Hussain.
He is now seeking to become the deputy leader of the Green Party, which could well happen as the Greens seem to like Ali. In 2024, the Green Party selected Ali to be deputy Mayor of West Yorkshire should the Party win the 2024 West Yorkshire mayoral election, but the Green Party lost and this did not happen.
In another instance, the Greens adopted policies put forward by a group of activists of which Ali is a member. Ali is a member of the Greens for Palestine group which proposed a change to Green Party policy to label the Israeli government’s conduct in the Gaza war as apartheid and genocide, and support for the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (“BDS”) movement. Ali was one of the Party members who proposed the motion at the Party’s annual conference in September 2024, which was adopted.
It must be noted that the leader and chief proponent of BDS is the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign. A nefarious organisation which is involved in racist activism and campaigns to radicalise others.

In an interview with Novara Media, Ali admitted that using the politics around “Palestine” was the decisive factor in his election to the council. Ali told Novara Media, “It might not have been as decisive a win [if not for Palestine]. I think it would have been much closer.” In other words, he used “Palestine” as a political tool.
It is at this point that we should remind ourselves that Islamism is not the same as Islam. Islam is a religion that Muslims follow. Islamism is a political ideology that utilises and draws inspiration from Islamic symbols and traditions in pursuit of a sociopolitical objective. This is what Ali is doing.
Although it has become the norm for the media and many on social media to refer to Gazans as Palestinians, Palestine is a political ideology, not a geographical location. There are no internationally recognised borders for “Palestine.”
According to the Islamist terror group Hamas, a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, the State of Israel does not exist and “Palestine” is an area “from the river to the sea,” meaning all of “historic Palestine,” which is also a dubious undefined term but is likely to mean a geographical region that includes Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, and sometimes parts of northwestern Jordan.
In its 1988 Charter, Hamas also called for the murder of all Jews and the destruction of Israel. It was only in a 2017 document that the genocidal maniacs removed explicit references to killing Jews.
On its website, the Palestinian Embassy in Ireland states, “Our position on borders has evolved since 1948. Our national movement once laid claim to its rights over all of historic Palestine, an area that includes modern-day Israel. Since 1988, however, in the interest of achieving peace, we accepted the compromise of 22 per cent of historic Palestine, seeking a state of our own in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.” This is the same new borders Hamas envisage in their slightly less genocidal 2017 document:
The idea of a geographical location called “Palestine” is speculative, fluid and appears to be driven by the political aims of a terrorist organisation.
Considering the facts above, to use “Palestine” to get elected to a political position in the UK is a clear sign that Ali is an Islamist rather than a Muslim. It is also a clear sign that many of those who voted for him are also Islamists or at least terrorist sympathisers. What happened after Ali won the election appears to prove the point.
Following his election, Ali faced significant backlash for comments he made in support of “Palestine,” including describing his victory as a “win for the people of Gaza” and stating that Israel “are not victims, they are occupiers, they are colonialists.”
These remarks led to condemnation from the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Leeds Jewish Representative Council, prompting the Green Party to investigate and Ali to issue an apology for any upset caused.
It’s not clear when the video below was recorded, but it proves that Ali’s Islamist activism is not a one-off. His monologue is full of pro-Hamas and anti-European propaganda, a lot of it not even remotely resembling the truth. One of the most egregious lies he spouts is his attempt to fool people that all Gazans are civilians. Civilians are not armed with weapons; they do not fire rockets and bombs to destroy and kill people, which in any other situation would be seen as an act of war. And an army of civilians does not illegally enter another country armed with guns intending to kill, rape and kidnap unarmed citizens of that country.
We have to wonder how Ali is still a councillor; indeed, we should question how he was elected at all.
Earlier this year, we published an article about an interview with anti-grooming campaigner Raja Miah. Over several years, he and others have uncovered wholesale postal voting fraud in areas with large Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities. He also explained how the gangs involved with postal voter fraud are part of a larger organised crime operation, which includes the Muslim rape gangs. Perhaps voters in Gipton and Harehills need to see if Ali was elected on a disproportionately high number of postal votes.
Possible election interference only adds to our questions about how Ali was elected. The Telegraph reported that pro-Hamas activists were telling Muslim voters who to back in the May local elections in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. And according to reports, pro-Hamas activists were attempting to interfere during vote counting for Leeds City Council; these were the same elections in which Ali was elected local councillor for the Gipton and Harehills ward of Leeds City Council.

Rhoda, you wish to try to “raise awareness that a small group of people planned to take over the world for their own benefit”, yet you are apparently blind to the past and present criminal injustices of the State of Israel vis-à-vis the Palestinians? It is Israel that has undefined borders (the Zionists want flexibility), it is Israel’s governing Likud Party whose founding platform claims Israel will be sovereign from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, it is Israel’s leaders (that small group of people) who exercise complete dominance over the Western world, whose propaganda services (including yours?) always claim Israel acts in self-defence when killing outrageous numbers of innocent civilians, it is Israel’s leaders who dictate which US-supported wars will be fought when, thereby expanding their influence to solely their own benefit, and it is Israel that is openly committing genocide with the full support of USA and all European countries – despite their populations being disgusted by such acts. The TV (BBC and Channel 4) get their numbers from Hamas. Hamas uses a formula to come with the number killed (i.e. it is a mathematically derived number: at one time, Hamas was simply adding a constant number of deaths each day to the tally regardless of what was happening on the ground – a clear sign of deception.) Hamas is a terrorist organisation who benefits from manipulating the truth. Hamas and the TV never mention how many of those “civilians” who are killed are Hamas. Hamas and the TV never mention how many have died from other causes, such as vaccine injuries. So the total is dodgy, and how many civilians within the total is dodgy and the cause of death is dodgy. If your statement is deduced from what Hamas and the TV are saying, then “killing outrageous numbers of innocent civilians” is also dodgy. It is the “covid deaths” mantras all over again, lies built on top of lies, built on top of manipulation and lies.
How do we differentiate a civilian from a terrorist? Civilians do not carry guns to terrorise populations (both Israelis and Gazans). Civilians do not fire rockets and bombs into Israel. Civilians do not kidnap citizens of another nation and hold them against their will for years. Civilians do not arrest, jail or execute people who protest against them. Civilians, who are constantly armed and openly carry guns, do not kill other people to further their political aims – i.e. rule by fear. “Civilians” do not hide behind civilians and civilian infrastructure to protect themselves, such as Hamas does. Civilians do not build underground tunnels (including under hospitals) as military bases and command centres for military campaigns. These are some of the ways you can tell the difference between a Hamas fighter (terrorist) and a civilian in Gaza.
So .. how many civilians has Israel killed in Gaza during military operations in response to the 7 October 2023 terrorist attack? You won’t know the answer, because no one does but I will guarantee you it is far less than the “outrageous numbers” you currently believe. At least half of the “outrageous numbers” of “civilians” killed are armed and dangerous Hamas fighters or Hamas terrorist leaders, who, hide among civilians and so increase the number of civilian casualties. Hamas does not care how many civilians are killed, in fact, as far as Hamas is concerned, the more the better because then it will make news headlines and advertise their cause. So in a perverse way, the false news headlines are encouraging Hamas’ deadly terrorist behaviour. Don’t be surprised to discover one day that Hamas has killed civilians to increase the number of deaths, just as we saw the elderly being killed to increase the number of covid deaths. Terrorists do not care how many people die; in the minds of terrorists, people are merely a tool, cannon fodder, to achieve their aims.
If you are using the terrorist organisation Hamas or the TV as your source for news, I would advise you question what you’re being told – Hamas lies, and as you know from covid, climate change and Ukraine, among others, the TV also lies. If the numbers of deaths in Gaza that you believe has occurred is the same as what the TV is saying, then your source is the same whether you realise it or not. Just because the TV says it, does not make it true. Just because you saw the same thing repeated on social media, it does not make it any more true than if you had seen it on TV.
Israel is in the process of exterminating all 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, whether “civilians” or Hamas, there is no distinction.
How can I know this without actually being there?
How can I be sure of any news report anywhere without being personally present? The answer is simply by appraising multiple reports on any matter, thereby over time developing trusted sources of information, especially those which later prove to be accurate.
Thus I believe most reports you provide in The Exposé but, for some reason, you have a highly biased opinion in praise of Israel, despite overwhelming evidence of Israel’s past and present crimes, e.g. the recent testimonies from numerous countries to the ICJ regarding the ongoing genocide, reports from numerous independent websites (Middle East Eye, Electronic Intifada, Cradle, Grayzone, Drop Site News …), YouTube channel videos, such as DDN or Judging Freedom, as well as the destruction shown by satellite images, for example, in GoogleMaps.
I never watch TV.

I ask because you are saying the same things I see on TV, i.e. your sources and the TV sources are the same. If we start with your sources, we can probably, with a little bit of digging or comparing what your sources are saying to with Channel 4 or BBC, demonstrate your sources are watching TV and then repeating what they have seen on TV. Failing that, if you ask your sources where they are getting their information from, you will likely find it is coming from Hamas, the UN, the Iranian regime or another Islamist source.
If your sources refuse to provide their sources then you should be suspicious they are a propaganda outlet, although there is also a lot of click bait and activism out there as well (but these are easily spotted when you look for their source). Remember that since 2020 we have been in an information war, and as people distrust the TV more and more, propagandists have become adept at appearing as “independent” or “alternative” media sources and “citizen journalists.” If you don’t check your sources you can easily be misled or led to following the narrative Globalists want you to believe, even though you never watch TV.
As well as frequently putting out demonstrably false and misleading information, and being engaged in activist-journalism, the TV (left-wing TV, e.g. BBC and Channel 4) repeatedly says it gets its information from Hamas. When it comes to Gaza, the activist-journalists on TV don’t appear to use any sources other than Hamas or the UN – BIG RED FLAG.
