Bill Gates is funding research to develop “flying vaccinators,” which are genetically modified mosquitoes designed to deliver vaccines.
The project is being conducted by researchers at Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands. The goal is to combat malaria by using these mosquitoes to administer vaccines without causing significant illness.
Critics have raised concerns about safety, informed consent and unintended ecological impacts.

In November 2024 a study by Leiden University Medical Center (“LUMC”) was published in the New England Journal of Medicine which concluded that mosquitoes could be used as “flying vaccinators.”
According to the paper, the study was “supported by a donation from the Bontius Foundation.” This doesn’t tell us very much as the Bontius Foundation, also known as Bontius Stichting LUMC Research Foundation, funds and supports finding additional funding for scientific research at LUMC.
However, for years the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has supported LUMC’s research. The Foundation granted LUMC $1,578,317 in September 2023 and another $2,287,871 in November 2024 for its malaria programme.
In LUMC’s study, 43 adults aged 19 to 35 with no prior malaria history were divided into three groups. Each group received bites from mosquitoes carrying either the GA2 parasite, the GA1 parasite or no parasite (placebo).
The participants underwent three rounds of vaccination by mosquito, spaced 28 days apart. Three weeks after the final round, all participants were exposed to malaria through bites from infected mosquitoes. The results showed that eight out of nine participants in the GA2 group were successfully protected against malaria, compared to only one out of eight in the GA1 group and none in the placebo group.
The Dutch researchers now seek to replicate their results in a larger human trial.
While it is claimed this method shows promise in combating malaria, it has raised ethical concerns regarding informed consent and medical safety. Critics argue that bypassing traditional vaccination methods and consent procedures could be ethically unacceptable and set a dangerous precedent.
The concept of using mosquitoes as “flying vaccinators” is not new. In 2010, Japanese researcher Shigeto Yoshida modified mosquito saliva to deliver leishmania vaccines to mice, noting that vaccination by insect could be painless and cost-effective. However, Yoshida also acknowledged that medical safety issues and concerns about informed consent mitigate the use of this method for vaccine delivery.

This is probably more fear hype than fact. There is no verifiable evidence to show that mosquitos spread any diseases like malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever etc. People like Gates and their muderous colleagues in the pharmacuetical/chemical industries are usually found trialling their deliberately toxic products in these same regions of the world.
Hi Roger Lewis, I take it you’ve never spent any time in a malaria area.
Malaria is real and it is a parasite transmitted to humans via a specific specie of mosquito. The fear psychology they use is not to do with the parasite, the disease or how its transmitted – that is all true. Where the psychology comes in is they exaggerate the prevalence and deadliness of malaria to push “the need” for a vaccine.
If you get malaria it is truly dreadful but, since quinine was discovered and widely distributed to malaria areas, there are fewer deaths than is advertised. In most cases death occurs in the very young, who are susceptible to dehydration, and if someone develops cerebral malaria (which is rare and only some people are susceptible, last I heard it is unknown why some people are susceptible to cerebral malaria while others are not).
Other people who are at risk are those who cannot get treatment early. The only person I have ever heard of that died from malaria contracted it in Africa and then went to South America on holiday (a non-malaria area). The doctors weren’t familiar with the disease and so didn’t recognise it and diagnose it, he wasn’t treated for malaria and unfortunately it turned into cerebral malaria. If he had been in Africa when he began showing symptoms, they would have immediately been recognised, he would have been treated immediately and probably survived.
Mosquito nets and ensuring there is no standing water near where you live is about 90% effective against preventing malaria. And quinine (in its synthetic form its called hydroxycholoroquine) is 90%+ effective at both treating and preventing malaria. Nets, removing standing water and local knowledge of symptoms and treatments (such as quinine) are way way more effective than any “vaccine” Bill Gates with all his money could conjure up. Collectively, nets, removing standing water and treatments/prophylactics that have been known about for decades are about 99% effective in preventing and treating malaria. To push a malaria vaccine and ignore these known effective measures is pure insanity – it can only mean they intend for people to die.

This Makes good sense to me Rhoda. Gates seems to have many personas, one of which is that of a business man who knows the monetary potential of patented vaccines and new delivery technologies. Having said that and knowing he’s most likely also a devout Eugenicist and depopulationist, we should all be concerned as to his real motivation in investing in this technology given it could be used to deliver much more nefarious poisons.
Hi Steve, you’re right to point out that at any one time we can only guess a person’s motivation. But as you highlight, the overarching motivating factors for all that Gates does is money, control and eugenics/transhumanism/depopulation.
If the primary motivation behind one of the projects he funds is money, for example, and people die as a result this is no problem to him as he will see it as simply adding to his eugenic/transhumanist agenda. If the primary motivation is transhumanism and he makes money at the same time its an added bonus.
