The European Federation of Journalists (“EFJ”) is the largest organisation of journalists in Europe, so it is claimed, representing over 295,000 journalists in 74 journalists’ organisations across 44 countries.
On 20 January 2025 when Donald Trump became the 47th president of the United States, the organisation stopped using Twitter because it feels it is unethical to participate in the right to freedom of expression the platform promotes.

EFJ was established in 1994 within the framework of the International Federation of Journalists (“IFJ”) Constitution to represent the interests of journalists. The EFJ is headquartered in Brussels and is registered with the EU Transparency Register.
The EFJ claims to fight for the social and professional rights of journalists through strong trade unions and associations. It also claims to promote and defend the rights to freedom of expression and information as guaranteed by Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. It boasts of supporting trade union development and media environments that foster quality, pluralism and journalistic independence.
A recent decision by the EFJ proves that the above claims are all nonsense. At the end of November 2024, EFJ announced that it would stop publishing content on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), from 20 January 2025 when Donald Trump officially became the 47th president of the United States. The organisation stated that it can no longer ethically participate in a social network that its owner has transformed into a machine of disinformation and propaganda.
“It joins The Guardian and other European media outlets including Dagens Nyheter, La Vanguardia, Ouest-France and Sud-Ouest in coming off the platform, due to the impact of Musk on the organisation,” The London Economic wrote.
According to Meidas News, “It is unclear if the journalists associated with the EFJ will join other platforms or if they will remain off social media.”
Bizarrely, it is not only the EFJ that represents “320,000 journalists in 74 journalists’ organisations across 46 countries,” according to the Global Forum for Media Development (“GFMD”). The IFJ makes the same claim, almost word for word: IFJ “represents over 320,000 journalists in 70 journalists’ unions and associations across 44 countries in Europe.”
The EFJ itself claims to represent, “over 295,000 journalists … in 44 countries.” IFJ clears up the confusion caused by GFMD: “[IFJ} also has a European branch, the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ).”
The claims of how many “journalists” EFJ represents is perhaps all smoke and mirrors. The EFJ does not have a list of the individual journalists it represents as its members are unions and associations, not individual journalists. In addition to these, EFJ has partnered with many organisations including GFMD, the BBC, George Soros-funded openDemocracy and UNESCO.
Lifting the veil further on the EFJ’s nefarious activities, on 16 January the EFJ and Reporters Without Borders (“RSF”) urged the European Commission president to act swiftly to prevent Meta’s fact-checking programme from being shut down in Europe. As we all know, Meta’s “fact-checking” programme is a censorship programme to ensure users of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp etc do not see or debate views that challenge the “official” political narrative.
That EFJ is an activist group is clearly stated on its now “no longer active” Twitter profile. Its activism against freedom of expression, both on Twitter and Facebook, is sufficient proof that it is not the “interests of journalists” it is defending, but, in fact, the interests of those who control the journalists.
EFJ has stopped using its Twitter profile, for now, but the chances are the 295,000 – 320,000 “journalists” it is claimed it represents won’t.
EFJ has had very little interaction from these hundreds of thousands of “journalists” on its Twitter profile; it receives, on average, less than a combined 25 likes, shares and comments on its posts. Considering there has been little interest in its Twitter profile, it is highly likely its “295,000-320,000” members in “44-46 countries” are not taking any notice.
In light of EFJ’s recent anti-free speech activism, any self-respecting journalists who are members of the organisations that make up EFJ will cancel their membership. Journalists will be aware that ECJ has revealed its true nature to the public and any journalist associated with it from now on will be tarred with the same brush.

“Journalists”. What a bullschit term. I am old enough to remember when we had reporters – REPORTERS – writing up the news. Today, everyone and his biased dog is a “journalist”.
Several years ago, after the “journalist” designation had been around for some time, I spotted an obituary in our newspaper, for a man who worked for a newspaper for decades. According to the writer of his obit, he “proudly considered himself a reporter and described himself with that word.”
Guess you guys only get “approved” news in the UK. Donald Trump is a wrecking ball and has smashed all expectations on his first day. Globalist Euroweenies have numbered days. The hypocrisy of “free speech so long as it’s not misinformation” would never hold water. Do they think people will stop using Twitter because they don’t? Hilarious. Great business model.

Just wait til some foreign policy type actions come around! And then there’s Tulsi Gabbard backtracking on freedom. She now supports nonconstitutional law which would legalize warrantless surveillance, or so I have read in any case.

For starter I would stop supporting division of communities by pointing whos got what in their pants, who wears what, or how they look and speak.Everyone of us is constantly subjected to brainwash from the cult, instead understand the problem on a global scale, speak to people with empathy, understanding and love. Try to create independent communities with idea of independent resources, and most of all, STOP believing what a man in suit tells you, no matter how good it sounds accordingly to your indoctrination. Power is people and unity, not racial,sexual,religious division that is used as a weapon on us by cult.Be the example you want to see in people.
The problem is (a) 99% of people want to be petted slaves and would never work outside their comfort zone and (b) everything is owned by the other side so without a civil war there’s no way back and no one will actually fight in any real way. Creating little communities is impossible because it’s actually against the law; it would be sedition. And so you’re back to a civil war again. In the uk it’s even worse because of the endless groups from all over the world, all of who hate each other. Not to mention the perverts, who are all throughout society just as they are through gov, all more willing to fight to carry on doing that than to fight to get rid of it. And lastly, there’s the tens of millions of rich people, who would never lift a finger for anyone; in general, they’re the ones abusing everyone, through rents.
And what exactly do you think will happen after Civil War ? Who do you think will rebuild the sociaty after that ? Thatis exactly what cult wants, thats why we got to this stage, 99.9 % dont even have a clue who those people are and how they operate. Yes they have created and control materialistic existance, and that gives opposition limited spectrum of movement within it, but theres something more powerfull than money, its knowledge. It wont be easy and probably its impossible to achive at this point, since indoctrination runs for 100s of years, but before you ignition your Civil War idea, you need to know your enemy. And it certainly is not people of different colour, religion or sexuallity. If there were a Civil War now, the technocratic dystopia with surveillance would appear within weeks, and thats what they r waiting for. Maybe at this point it is to late because we got to comfortable with meterialistic approach towards life, while the opponent belives and acts accordingly to spiritual cult, but I would rather look out for more educational and peacefull solutions. Is there one ? I dont know, maybe like I said , as an individual the only thing you can do at this point is to educate yourself, dont take any sides and look at everything with a pinch of salt in ur eye, think who gains from the idea u might think is good, spread and expose as much truth as poassible, be kind dont hate, understand how easly human brain can be manipulated via education, frequencies, technology, let others understand, and maybe than we could collectively come up with better sollution, rather than slaughter ourselves and repeat history again ? I mean happend many times in a past, and certainly didnt work long term, otherwise we wouldnt get to the same stage again, would we ?
