A “renewable energy expert” at a multinational law firm has stated that the UK government’s inheritance tax on farmers presents an opportunity to free up farming land so it can be used for “renewable energy.”

Who is the “Renewable Energy Expert”?
Based in London, Gareth Phillips is a partner at the multinational legal firm Pinsent Masons. According to Wikipedia, it has over 430 partners, a total legal team of around 1,900 people and more than 3,000 employees.
Phillips is described on the firm’s website as specialising in planning and project development and having experience in the consenting, financing, acquisition and divestment/disposal of energy-related infrastructure.
Although there is no direct affiliation between the two entities, Pinsent Masons often collaborates with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on various initiatives and reports. For instance, they have contributed to discussions and analyses on topics such as geopolitical and environmental risks, the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce and decarbonisation in the infrastructure sector. Articles published on the firm’s website that indicate its collaboration with WEF include:
- Global infrastructure survey seeks views on decarbonisation agenda;
- World Economic Forum: “geopolitical” and environmental risks overtaking economic threats to global business; and,
- Employers should look at AI’s impact on workforce through ESG lens.
And, as expected, the firm is committed to “doing their bit” to tackle “climate change.”
“Everybody here is passionate about doing their bit, because when we work together, it can make a huge difference. That’s why in 2022 we became one of the first professional services businesses to have our global net zero target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi),” the firm states on its website.
“We push the boundaries every day with our legal advice and business transformation services – and we’re doing the same with our environmental initiatives and commitments too.”
Dripping with globalese, Pinsent Masons proudly lists its commitments to “tackling climate change” as:
- Committed to net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our entire carbon footprint by 2040.
- Committed to reduce absolute scope 1,2 and 3 greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions 50% by 2030.
- Committed to sourcing 100% renewable electricity across our global estate by 2030.
How are they fulfilling their commitments? According to their website, by taking the following actions:
- Improving energy efficiency using the Smart Buildings Programme and Demand Side Response.
- Members of CDP which is used to monitor and manage the environmental performance of our supply chain.
- Approximately 75% of electricity for our premises is from REGO backed renewable sources.
- Target set for suppliers representing 50% of our spend to have validated science-based targets by 2025.
“We take climate-related risk and opportunity management seriously, regularly reviewing our systems and processes,” Pinsent Masons declares. “For inquiries on our approach, assistance with your sustainability risk and opportunity management or your disclosures, please contact [us],” Pinsent Mason’s “climate change” webpage concludes.
Pinsent Masons is not a firm of lawyers. It is a multinational group of activists who hope to profit enormously from the climate change scam.

UK Budget: Inheritance Tax Reform May Free Up Land For Renewable Energy Projects

The changes to inheritance tax announced in chancellor Rachel Reeves’ autumn budget mean more agricultural land becomes available for renewable energy projects across the UK, an expert has said.
Renewable energy expert Gareth Phillips was commenting after the chancellor announced significant reforms to agricultural property relief (APR) and business property relief (BPR). These changes aim to balance the need for increased government revenue with the protection of small family farms and businesses.
Starting from April 2026, the first £1 million of combined business and agricultural assets will continue to attract no inheritance tax. However, for assets exceeding this threshold, the relief will reduce from 100% to 50%, resulting in an effective tax rate of 20%.
Phillips said: “Historically, farmers have been reluctant to grant leases for renewable development because the land is deemed to transfer out of agricultural holding, and as such will lose out on inheritance tax relief. However, following the changes announced in Wednesday’s budget, landowners will now be much more incentivised to look at leasing land to renewable developers as a way of finding new income streams to top up the loss. It may also trigger more sales of farm land by those who need to fund the payment of inheritance tax, meaning more land becomes available for different uses.”

Or more likely just a made up reason for land grab. If that’s true that we are heading into an ice age – and probably true based on the cold summers we nowadays have here – they try to land grab for themselves which are better. It is interesting how all the big catastrophes nowadays affected nice places like Valencia or Maui, hitting them with floods, fire or droughts.
Good point, the weather catastrophes of Maui and Valencia are places known to many of us. Even if we haven’t been lucky enough to holiday there, we hear about such places and see them on TV. Both places imho have sustained horrific disasters that have the imprint of unnatural interference with the weather and Maui certainly was made much worse by people not being helped. Similarly in North Carolina where the deployment of Aid seemed to be prevented by the Authorities.
I’m sick of this pointless march towards nett zero. It’s a money pit and they won’t make an iota of difference into the natural climate change of the Earth. Meanwhile there are so many areas of natural beauty being destroyed by wind turbines and the mining for minerals in order to make batteries plus the toxic chemicals emitted by EVs when the batteries go into thermal runaway.

I am surrounded by small farms where I live, even knowing a few farmers.
All they want to do is carry on farming, for the family to follow on.
The farmers I know are as honest as they come.
The majority are not wealthy, just landowners.
When they do sell some land, it is quickly built on.
The council seem to encourage them to dispose of good farmland for houses. Seems a shame to me, what do I know ?

Owning land does not equate with being wealthy. The meagre income derived is extremely hard-earned, every day of the year. \when the overheads are weighed up there is often barely a penny left for the Farmer’s family to spend on their own needs.
Then the Farmer is at the mercy of the weather and the whims and fancies of government policies which change before the ill effects of the last terrible edict has had a chance to be be resolved. I have a little sympathy with Councils trying to find areas where housing may be erected to meet the demands of Government targets and the population’s need for homes.

If they get rid of small family farms we will only have a couple of large corporations with their industrial farming and an ability to full spectrum poisoning. Plus they can cut down on meat production while only producing “zee bugs” and force feeding us them without any other option than starvation.

Till a certain level we create our reality based on believes. Furthermore the cult-criminals playing by the book using it to generate more fear (fear causes illnesses and paralyzes the brain) and religion also good to share us more to prevent us to work together to punish them. Eg. ‘if you are catholic you are over’ – just have a look at the Stew Peters Network’ material or SOTN, the other big controlled opposition site.

I know Pinsent Mason’s is a huge firm so must have many departments and do vast amounts of different types of legal work.I was told once that they were called upon by the company being sued rather than the one bringing the action for being wronged, because the company defending itself had the most to lose and so they chose PM because they have a rottweiler reputation of being very fierce and never giving in, so they would do the best damage limitation job! I know too they have done work for the government. Before the Olympic bid was given to London, PM bought offices in Canary Warf to be ready to set up work on the building contracts and legal work that would begin before anything could start with regard to building the Olympic site.
They also did the legal contracts for the building work of Hinkley C – a Government project.
So they are the tough guys! Hardly surprising they are up there with the WEF then. No flies on them apparently.
But why are they so immersed in the ‘new speak’ of today? No doubt it’s where the work is, where the money comes from. A good lawyer picks up the key buzz words it seems. So they are completely entangled with all the new ideas, ‘net zero’, ‘climate change’, ‘renewable energy’ ahh! There we have it! (Surprised he didn’t mention ‘net zero’ too, but maybe PM’s work for Hinkley C has to be balanced against the many thousand wind turbines they envisage springing up on all those fields suddenly getting sold because inheritance tax ‘relief will reduce from 100% to 50%, resulting in an effective tax rate of 20%.’)
As for ‘net zero’, the lies about climate change, the horrendously immoral indoctrination of our children concerning it and the obvious massive spraying of chemtrails everywhere… as well as geoengineering by many other means, I am so sick of the wickedness and dishonesty being forced upon us it has actually made me very depressed.
We are living through very bad and dangerous times. All of which was carefully planned.
