The recent High Court battle between former GB News host Mark Steyn and The Office of Communications (“Ofcom”) has raised some troubling questions about broadcasting regulation in Britain.
Since 2020, when Melanie Dawes took over as CEO, Ofcom has taken a seemingly more radical approach.
Many may not be aware, but Tony Blair’s government inserted a provision into the Communication Act of 2003 that fundamentally changed impartiality rules for broadcasts. Instead of upholding “impartiality”, it required Ofcom to adhere to “due impartiality”. Meaning, for issues that are “broadly settled,” like climate change, broadcasters must abide by the prevailing consensus or risk punishment. Put simply, they’ve codified bias into our laws.

It is biased and many of the submissions speaking the truth about the origins of the virus, its pathogenicity, the need for lockdowns and most importantly the dangerous experimental gene-based vaccines were never considered.

Australian Misinformation and Disinformation (MAD) Bill, Lies are Unbekoming
The Australian government wants to rush through a national censorship bill. The bill has already been rushed through the House of Representatives with a vote of 78 to 57. It now has to pass the Senate. They will likely vote next week.
Unbekoming has summarised the bill in his/her article. The article also includes a list of Senators Australians can write to as well as three draft emails/letters that can be used for this purpose.
The bill affects all digital platforms operating in Australia, from social media to search engines, creating a widespread censorship net. While claiming to target “misinformation,” the bill’s broad definitions allow the Australian Communications and Media Authority (“ACMA”) to potentially restrict legitimate political discourse and religious expression that it deems harmful.
The bill represents a significant expansion of government control over online speech, masked as protection against “misinformation.”

German Man is Raided By Police For Calling Pro-Censorship Vice Chancellor an “Idiot”, Reclaim the Net

As The Federalist noted, companies promote family planning over actual family support, abortion travel is often cheaper than supporting families, in vitro fertilisation (“IVF”) and egg freezing have uncertain success rates and companies prioritise employee flexibility over family well-being. Meanwhile, the fertility rate in the US is at a record low.
The report suggests that these corporate policies are contributing to the declining fertility rate in the US, as women delay starting families under the guise of security offered by reproductive technologies.
