Protests against Hamas have erupted in Gaza, with Gazans taking to the streets in multiple locations, including Beit Lahia and Deir al-Balah, calling for an end to the war and the removal of Hamas from power.
In videos shared on social media, protestors can be heard chanting “Hamas out” and “Hamas terrorists.”
By protesting, Gazans have shown remarkable courage and bravery because Hamas is known for its brutal crackdowns to silence dissent.

Protests against Hamas are rare in the Gaza strip, The Telegraph reported. “The terror group has cracked down violently on demonstrations in the past, with Amnesty International reporting in 2019 that people had been beaten and detained arbitrarily over protests against the cost of living. It also said protesters had been subject to torture while in detention.”

However, Gazans have overcome their fear this week and protested against Hamas.
On Tuesday, TV host and author Brother Rachid tweeted a “Statement from the Families and Clans of the Southern Governorates, Gaza Strip” dated 25 March 2025. The image of the statement is in Arabic. Brother Rachid provided the following translation:
Our steadfast people in Gaza, enough is enough! We can no longer remain silent or wait any longer. Years of oppression, starvation, and destruction have passed, and now our people are being pushed toward annihilation without mercy or accountability.
In the name of the tribes of Gaza, we call for a popular uprising against oppression and a march of rage to shake the ground beneath the feet of those who have sold our blood and exploited our suffering for their own narrow interests.
The people of Gaza have sacrificed everything – what was the result? More death, more hunger, more humiliation! We refuse to remain fuel for political calculations. We will not allow this farce to continue. Enough playing with our lives and the future of our children! Enough disregard for our suffering!
Hamas must immediately lift its grip on Gaza and end this unjust siege imposed on us by decisions that do not represent us. We call on everyone to take to the streets and make our voices heard around the world:
Gaza is not anyone’s hostage. Gaza will be liberated by the will of its people.
On the same day, soon-to-be MIT student Eyal Yakoby tweeted a video with the comment: “Palestinians have taken to the streets of Gaza protesting Hamas. The crowd chants, ‘Where is the press? Where are the journalists?’ They know that the ‘journalists’ in Gaza are all Hamas and that international media will ignore them.”
Egyptian award-winning writer and political analyst Dalia Ziada tweeted three videos of the protests in Gaza with the comment:
Three messages from the Gazans to the world, and why the people will win this time:
1. “Hamas are terrorists.”
2. “We want peace.”
3. “We want to live a normal life.”
It is not the first time the people of Gaza protested against Hamas rule. Similar protests have happened many times before, but it has always been under-reported in the media and quickly suppressed by the brutally powerful Hamas and its regional backers.
However, this time is different. Why?
- Hamas is lonely and devasted.
- The biased Qatar-sponsored media has already lost its credibility and ability to manipulate the truth.
- The people of Gaza have broken the barriers of fear after they have been left with nothing to lose.
Let’s amplify their voices.
Below is the second of the three videos posted by Ziada.
Australian Drew Pavlou tweeted a video with the comment: “Amazing. Palestinians in Gaza chant ‘Al Jazeera Out’ and ‘Hamas Out’. How many times have I been called a ‘Zionist pig’ etc for saying the exact same things that Palestinians in Gaza are now chanting in the streets.”
Brother Rachid tweeted a video with the comment: “Protests in Gaza are being ignored by the majority of news outlets because they don’t fit their narrative. In this video, protesters are chanting, ‘Hamas out for the sake of Allah!’”
David Quinn, a columnist for Mediahuis Ireland covering the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent, tweeted: “These are extremely brave people protesting openly against Hamas” and shared an article from Irish state broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (“RTÉ”) (see below).
Gazans Protest Against Hamas
The following is extracted from an article published by RTÉ on 26 March 2025. [Square brackets] indicate edits done by us.
In northern Gaza yesterday [25 March], [Gazans] gathered for the biggest anti-Hamas rally since the start of the war, chanting “Hamas out” and “Hamas terrorists.”
Majdi, a protester who did not wish to give his full name, said the “people are tired.”
“If Hamas leaving power in Gaza is the solution, why doesn’t Hamas give up power to protect the people?”
Hamas seized power in Gaza in 2007 after winning [an election in Gaza] the year before. No vote has been held since.
Levels of discontent towards Hamas in Gaza are difficult to gauge, in part because of its intolerance for public expressions of dissent.
Fatah [ ] has called on Hamas to “step aside from governing” Gaza to safeguard the “existence” of Palestinians in the war-battered territory.
[Fatah is a Palestinian nationalist and social democratic political party. It is the largest faction of the confederated multi-party Palestine Liberation Organisation (“PLO”) and the second-largest party in the Palestinian Legislative Council (“PLC”). Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, is the chairman of Fatah.]

So The Expose has turned into a Zionist shill. Get real. Hamas is one faction of a dozen in the Palestinian Resistance and they are the only chance Palestinians have to be free. Yes they are protesting in Gaza but Israeli translators are lying about what they are saying.
THEY ARE SAYING END THE WAR. THEY ARE CONDEMNING SHITRAEL FOR ITS COLONIAL OCCUPATION.
You say, “So The Expose has turned into a Zionist shill.” You probably say that to everyone you disagree with. Either that or “conspiracy theorist,” “anti-vaxxer,” “far-right” or “controlled opposition.” All of these are poor arguments, at best, and probably say more about you than it does about the person you’re labelling.
Wait a minute! Haven’t we been told by Western puppet politicians and MSM that everyone in Gaza is a terrorist? If there are/were in fact citizens independent of Hamas ideology living in Gaza, why has the U.S. and Israel been bombing the shit out of Gaza and killing EVERYONE?
Hi Daniel, in the UK, most of the politicians and media say the opposite (despite Hamas being designated a terrorist organisation in numerous countries, including the UK). The mantra is that there are no terrorists and everyone in Gaza is a civilian, even those who are armed and referred to as “freedom fighters” (and carry out terrorist acts) are labelled as civilians. This is the same prevailing narrative (propaganda) behind the mantra “Israel has committed genocide” that the UN’s courts are pushing. So I’m not sure which Western media you’re watching.
It is the same media outlets, politicians and organisations in the West who are ignoring or down playing the protests against Hamas in Gaza. You will also notice that the people who claim to be “pro-Palestinian,” who display a Palestinian flag on their social media profiles and protest in the streets shouting “free Palestine” in the West, will ignore the anti-Hamas protests in Gaza, although I have seen some rudely criticise/dismiss and mock the protests and protestors.
The lack of support for protesting Gazans from “pro-Palestinians” in the West should tell you what has actually happened. In case you missed it – “pro-Palestinians” are not, and never were, pro-Gazans, they are pro-Hamas (Muslim Brotherhood), i.e., pro an Islamic terrorist organisation. And a lot of people in the West have been duped by this pro-Hamas (pro-terrorist) propaganda. The “pro-Palestinian” movement was/is a PsyOp, just as the Black Lives Matter movement was/is a PsyOp. The “pro-Palestinian” PsyOp is being run by the establishment and controligarchs with the help of Islamists. For those who fell for it, cognitive dissonance looms large.
In case you were wondering whose side I am on – I have always been pro-Gazan and I have always been anti-Hamas; this is my stance where ever terrorists operate in the world, I will support the victims but not the terrorists. So, I will support the Gazans but I will not support or promote Hamas – because Hamas is an terrorist organisation which operates out of Gaza that not only terrorises Israelis but also terrorises Gazans. Gaza needs to be freed from Hamas and other Islamic State organisations that are waiting in the wings to take over from them when Hamas falls. Because the UN is working with Hamas, and was/is aiding and abetting Hamas’ terrorist operations, Gaza also needs to be freed from the UN. Then, if Gazans do not want to become a protectorate of the US, Egypt needs to tear down the massive wall they built to protect themselves from terrorists (Hamas) operating from Gaza and take back responsibility for the people and what is happening day to day in the Gaza Strip.
Hegelian Dialectic. We know for a fact that Israel and the U.S. has historically financed (and probably created) Hamas (Netanyahu has been public about the important role Hamas plays in the Greater Israel Project). Just like Isis, Al Qaida, and probably all “terrorists” that MSM and Western politicians have propped up as the boogyman that the world needs to be saved from. October 7th was Israel’s 9-11.
Just one question Rhoda – do you consider the IDF to be terrorists ?
These people can’t be trusted to be truthful on anything, these are the same people that cheered when HamAss attacked Israel and took hostages, this is probably a staged event maybe even by HamAss to turn the spotlight away from the war that they are losing. If that many people can protest then they also have the power to release the hostages plain and simple.
There are a lot of weapons in the Gaza strip , use them to force the release of the hostages and stop the theatrics
