The UK Supreme Court recently ruled that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex, excluding “transgender women” from being legally recognised as women under the Equality Act.
Despite biological sex being an indisputable fact, “transgender” activists and professional agitators are war-gaming their pushback. This, as they will claim, is for the 0.5% of the population who are already afforded protection under the Equality Act as a “transsexual person.”
Far from advocating for equal rights, the “transgender” ideology is misogynistic.

On 16 April, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the legal definition of a woman under the Equality Act 2010 refers to biological sex, meaning a biological woman, and excludes “transgender” people. The court’s decision was unanimous, with Deputy President Patrick Hodge stating that “the words ‘sex’, ‘woman’ and ‘man … mean (and were always intended to mean) biological sex, biological woman and biological man.”
The Supreme Court noted that “gender reassignment” is a different and separate protected characteristic from sex. The Equality Act refers to it as relating to “a transsexual person,” human rights charity Sex Matters said.
“No change is needed in the definition of sex to bring transgender individuals (with or without a [Gender Recognition Certificate]) under the protection of the act if they face unlawful sex discrimination either in their actual sex or their target sex,” the charity added.
A key question considered by the Supreme Court was how the two protected characteristics [female and transsexual] relate to the law around provision of single-sex and separate-sex services … The judgment concludes (at paragraph 218): “Read fairly and in context, the provisions relating to single-sex services can only be interpreted by reference to biological sex.”
It explains (at paragraph 213): “It is likely to be difficult (if not impossible) to establish the conditions necessary for [lawful] separate services for each sex when each group includes persons of both biological sexes.”

So, those who are upset with the ruling either don’t understand it or are advocating for men and women who self-identify as the opposite sex to be allowed to access single-sex facilities and services. This is the sort of ideological tripe that men have taken advantage of to usurp women’s rights and invade women’s spaces, such as men competing in women’s sports and using facilities reserved for women only.
As Sean Walsh wrote in The Conservative Woman, “The Supreme Court … has told us something we already knew [that biological sex is immutable and determinant]. Affronted by this affirmation of common sense, the ministerial transgender hawks are now war-gaming their pushback. And the professional agitators are on the streets already, defacing the tributes to women’s emancipation and screaming the anthems of this new cult of hateful misogyny.”
While professional agitators and “transgender” hawks push back on Natural Law, the laws of nature and common sense, there are millions of women whose voices they drown out for the sake of a very few. How many is few?
In the 2021 England and Wales Census, for the first time, a question on gender identity was included. The question asked, “Is the gender you identify with the same as your sex registered at birth?” The question was voluntary.
2.9 million people (6.0% of the population who completed the Census) did not answer the question. 45.4 million people (93.5%) answered “Yes,” correctly identifying their sex. And 262,000 people (0.5%) answered “No,” indicating they identified their gender to be different from their sex.
Within those who claimed they had a gender identity different to their sex, 48,000 people in England and Wales said they were “trans women,” men who identify as women.
The Office for National Statistics (“ONS”) released its Census data on 6 January 2023. On 8 November 2023, The Guardian reported, “Official statisticians do not know if the first census of transgender people in England and Wales underestimates or overestimates the true picture. They admitted respondents without good English might not have understood the survey question concerning gender.”
On 12 September 2024, the ONS downgraded the data from “accredited official statistics” to “official statistics in development” due to possible misinterpretations. In short, the ONS estimate of the “trans” population in England and Wales was reclassified as experimental after an investigation found that the census question was misunderstood by some respondents, particularly among those who do not speak English as their main language.
On 12 February 2025, the House of Commons Library removed local area data on gender identity from their Insight because of quality issues with the data published by the ONS.
Within the gender identity statistics, which the ONS has now washed its hands of, there will be people who have undergone gender reassignment. So, how many of the inaccurate estimate of the 262,000 “transgender” people in England and Wales are on hormone therapy, psychological support and/or taking up surgical options?
The specific number of people undergoing gender reassignment each year is not available. But to gauge numbers, the Independent reported in 2016 that the number of referrals to Charing Cross in London was 1,892, a clinic in Nottingham reported 850 and the Tavistock clinic reported 1,398. Tavistock’s Gender Identity Development Service (“GIDS”) was closed in 2022 for recklessly prescribing puberty blockers to children.

As the truth about gender reassignment is emerging, it is unlikely that increasing numbers are taking up the NHS’s offer to treat gender dysphoria with gender reassignment. Rather, the numbers are likely to decrease substantially. In response to the Cass Review, last year, as well as closing GIDS, the NHS announced that it was launching its first service for gender reassignment patients who wanted to detransition. The UK has also banned the use of puberty blockers to treat gender dysphoria in children.

It’s impossible to know how many of those who responded as having a different identity to their sex had undergone or were undergoing gender reassignment and so fall under a different and separate protected characteristic from sex in The Equality Act. Based on the above, of the 48,000 that claimed they were “trans women,” there could be a significant portion, say 10-20%, at a wild guess. Regardless, and however inaccurate the 2021 Census was, 48,000 “trans women” is a tiny proportion compared to the female population.
According to the 2021 Census, the population of England and Wales was around 59.6 million, with approximately 30.4 million women and girls. To state the obvious, that means, potentially, 48,000 men want to change the laws that will affect the rights and freedoms of more than 30 million women and girls.
This handful of men have not lived one day as a woman; they have no understanding of what it means to be a woman. Yet, they feel it should be they who define what a woman is and how the world relates to women, while at the same time displaying contempt for and prejudice against women and girls. They are not content with demanding how those in direct contact with them think and behave, that the lives of those in their immediate environs revolve around them; they are trying to embed this ideology in all aspects of our lives. Sean Walsh was right to describe it as misogyny. It is a new form of systemic misogyny, the likes of which we’ve not seen for 100 years.

Martin Armstrong meets with people at the very top – world leaders, top business people, top civil servants and WEF members – so when he says he was “told confidentially”, he means told by someone who knows what the plan was and was possibly even involved in advancing the plan.
“I was told confidentially that this whole transgender push was to try to convert young people so they would never have children, and this was the real goal to reduce the population. It makes no political sense to champion the rights of 0.5% of the population and demand the 99.5% of the population must change pronouns, stop calling your mother a “mother” because it offends some of the 0.5%. No politicians would normally champion such a far-flung group and risk their career for such a tiny portion if there was NOT some ulterior motive.”

I have been in a ladies’ loo in a motorway service station when a man with a very unshaven face walked in dressed in jeans and a frilly shirt. The ladies looked incredulous and fearful, and he peered at himself in the mirror to try to assess why. It was tacky, worrying and ridiculous: all three. You have several seconds to assess whether this person is trans, and/or insane and/or ill and/or a potential rapist. If he is a potential rapist you can see that he is physically stronger than you are
Most women have too much consideration and kindness to do that to another human being, but that empathy is clearly not part of what these people- wrongly- think constitutes a woman.
And as one who has given birth all the screaming and self-concern and hurty feelings wimpiness would instantly disqualify them from a very core female function. It is very insulting to see this gross parodying of women, and the men who pontificate about not knowing what a woman is seem quite happy to define what a man is. Disgusting mysogyny on their part.
