Czech Republic’s ongoing development of Central Bank Digital Currency (“CBDC”) faces concerns over potential abuse amidst corruption and privacy issues as noted by the Human Rights Foundation.

Yesterday we published an article introducing the Human Rights Foundation’s (“HRF’s”) CBDC Tracker website.  We outlined the risk associated with CBDCs as identified by HRF and highlighted the status of CBDCs in the UK.  Below we highlight the status of CBDCs in the Czech Republic, or Czechia, as summarised by HRF.

The Czech Republic is exploring the idea of a CBDC, with leadership proposing the concept of a digital wallet, claiming to offer anonymity and no transaction tracking. The actual design and operation of this proposed CBDC is yet to be determined, primarily due to potential regulation and anti-money laundering requirements.

Tomas Holub, a member of the Czech National Bank board, said that he has not seen anyone adequately address how a CBDC will operate. For example, Holub noted that it’s unlikely to be anonymous given anti-money laundering requirements.

Czechia is not yet a member of the euro area and does not have a target date to adopt the euro.  As such it is not among the countries that would adopt the European Central Bank’s CDBC called the digital euro.

However, as Bloomberg reported in October last year, although the Czech government, public and central bank have an aversion to joining the euro, companies’ executives are slowly taking the country into the single currency anyway.

“The koruna is only a part-time currency because the big businesses dominating the economy have mostly switched to the euro,” said Tomas Kolar, chief executive officer of Linet Group SE, a maker of high-tech hospital beds and other equipment.

Despite scoring 92 out of 100 in Freedom House’s 2023 Freedom in the World‘ report the country is grappling with corruption, raising concerns that a Czech CBDC might exacerbate it.

“Corruption remains a problem in Czech politics,” Freedom House wrote. Corruption has taken the form of bribery, subsidies, and politically motivated investigations. The existence of pervasive corruption is a major concern with CBDCs because it calls into question any promises that might be made by the government to limit surveillance, control, or other risks of CBDCs. Furthermore, the existence of corruption calls into question whether CBDC policies might be designed to exert political favouritism through subsidies, price controls, or other targeted restrictions.

Read the full article by selecting “Czech Republic” in the country drop-down box on the Human Rights Foundation CBDC Tracker website HERE.

Freedom House also noted that human trafficking remains a problem in the country as organised criminal groups use the country as a source, transit, and destination point; women and children are particularly vulnerable to being trafficked for sexual exploitation.

If CBDCs were adopted, would they inhibit human trafficking or enable it to proliferate?  That would depend on who is involved in and collaborating with the traffickers’ network and who controls the CBDCs.  If there are the same or similar persons involved with both, crime will flourish.

The more centralised the control, the higher the risk that crime and corruption thrive without the ability of the public to expose it or obtain sufficient evidence to bring guilty parties to account.

The digital euro will be a single CBDC used by the 20 countries within the Eurozone and will be under the centralised control of a few bureaucrats who are appointed and unaccountable to the public, and who for all extents and purposes operate behind closed doors. How much more is the risk of crimes proliferating when a single CDBC is used across multiple nations?

Do we really need money at all? Do we? Most of it is stolen from us in taxes which pay for wars which kill our children, further inflate bankers wealth and are gifted to the lobbying classes of rich people who further manipulate our lives. Unfortunately, we are caught in this system of debauchery. We pay mortgages and rent and must work for a living. But is another way possible? Of course it is. There is nothing inherently necessary in the ideology of money and it has only every corrupted mankind. Can we work towards using the stuff less and less? Can we trade, barter, provide hours of our labour against other goods or services? We can. I give you six eggs, you give me some potatoes, on a very insignificant level. Hell, the bankers print money out of thin air, we can do the same, if we only agree to using different notes. Who owns it? Who needs it. Not to fly to Mars, whats the point of that when you can’t even live on earth, but to treat humanity with dignity and care. The problem I see is in us all coming together. One giant middle finger to the banking families and their political and monarchical slaves. Print our own money and provide it where it is needed, as it is needed. Not in war, politics or business, but in the lives of ordinary people. The dollar is sure to fall. Why can’t it all fall? Every single currency. It’s soon only to be numbers allocated on a computer screen. Pardon the French, but F**k that insanity. Why can’t the value of all be found in what it is, not what it is ‘worth’ in numbers? The Rothschilds and others have held a knife at the throat of mankind for centuries, respecting only their family, well, we have a much bigger family than theirs. Their view of life is very limited and rather childish. Can you imagine if what they have became repulsively undesirable? Let them keep their ‘wealth’, let us find our own, in looking after one another and joining hands to form that giant middle finger and walking away from the slavery of bankers forever. I know, we need be one voice, and this is our problem, the requirement to loosen the chains of our slavery. Yet a dreamer I am. From dreams, many things can follow. I will continue to dream. I dream of the day this whole system built on self interested crap falls to the ground and the life of another person is seen as more important than the numbers mine is worth.

I’m not sure, but are you suggesting We The People should “print our own money…”? The people at the top of the We The People movement would end up becoming the new cabal/banksters!!

There is nothing inherently wrong with money, it is “the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil.” 1 Timothy 6:10.

Regarding bartering, I’m not sure how effective that would be, we might never end up agreeing on the potato/egg exchange rate!

Oh, there is so much wrong with money islander. For one thing, it’s mistaken as wealth. Wealth is what it buys, the home, the clothes, the warmth, the food. This is wealth. Not money. Does the potato/egg exchange rate need agreed upon, or is not more for both parties to agree upon it involved in the exchange? If we insist on seeing money as wealth, then the ‘we the people’ movement, as you say would do exactly as you say. But if we saw that wealth was the ending of war, the ending of authority over our lives, preventing us from living freely, the smile on the face of every child (wherever from), sheltered, clothed and fed, then money becomes simply the tool to do so. It’s so obvious what is happening in our world today. Our governments work for lobbyists (WEF), and the lobbyists always want more, more bombs dropped, more vaccinations stabbed into unwilling arms, more country takeovers, wars, corruption, trafficking and decadence. If we want that to continue, then yes, we would end up becoming the new cabal/banksters. If we see differently to that, we build a good world. We take from where there is too much (36 trillion in tax havens) and we give to where there is not enough. (a child dying every five seconds from starvation). Now, the lost and lonely souls who see large quantities of symbolic wealth as their life purpose and meaning are unlikely to give it up, even to save the lives of children. And so here is where printing our own and giving a middle finger to the current cabal/banksters has value. Doubtful it could ever happen though, too many people brainwashed to finding security in authority and a structured society, no matter how intolerable and demonic that structure happens to be.

It has to be back by something of value and fake IOU’s do not work. Anything that can be issued for far less than what it is supposed to represent the government and fraudsters will abuse.

I could not agree more. We do not need money it was only ever set up to control us; prior to that we lived perfectly well in a kind of hunter gatherer society, doing what needed to be done without a price tab.
I read a good little book a few years ago that sets out how life could be if the will was there to eradicate money…easy!
‘Windfall Of The Wise’… I don’t know if it’s still in print. A novel not a text book, and maybe a bit naive but it explained the concept in such a way that a five year old could understand it.

These scenarios are never going to occur. Either people stand up for themselves or it is over. If they implement digital money that it is more than likely time for me to die as I won’t participate.

Keep in touch I will barter trade, pay for with PM’s or crypto. That is the way forward through the CBDC and out the other side.

Out the other side is the government tax take collapses and hyperinflation kicks in. In the US 25% of the total tax take is now being used to pay interest.

Very simply so inflate values make the %interest look less or keep increasing the tax take of that 100% to make it add up all while receiving less in services.

But its all an illusion Mike. They pay interest on what? On numbers pulled from thin air which never existed in the first place. Challenge the (i)legitimacy of such a corrupt system from its outset. If it’s an illusion to start with, its an illusion the debt ever need be paid.

Hi Jane,
That’s an interesting idea.
Problem is, every Country that printed its own money, has been destroyed.
Even the Bank of England, does not belong to the public.
It is owned by some invisible shareholders.
Same as the Banks in the US.

Yes, but people have never come together and done so over the whole world. It’s our coming together that is important – not the printing of money, if that can happen then its over for those who sleep in palaces and control the world through a financial system no one else is any more interested in. It’s our divisions which need to heal. No more divisive ideologies, religious beliefs, patriotic identities, class divisions. No more measurement between one mans life and another. These identities are brainwashed into us as children, if they can be unlearnt, we have a chance. We then work for the collective good, rather than the individual. Which is as it need be. The whole of life need care for, not only the bankers and upper classes.

Hi Jane,
I totally agree with you.
The US had Greenbacks, the UK had Bradbury pounds.
This was no good for the bankers, as there was no interest to be charged.
The sinking of the Titanic was the way the bankers, took over the currency.
The meeting at Jekyll Island in 1913, created the Private, Central Bank of America.

There should be no taxes … you pay for the services you need so you remove worthless spending you do not want and remove the political grift. Taxation enabled the slow step crawl through socialism to 100% taxation that is communism.

You want and expect the free stuff … then you get communism which is where this all leads and the WEF.

No taxes and no profits. Profit is also a tax. Value at value point. Politics is the greatest racket the world over. After that, it’s business. If there is profit to be had, lets say from a supermarket, should that not be given to the people who use the supermarket, thereby reducing the cost of everything? This fat cat system of CEO take all and all others pay for it is lunacy.

IMHO CBDC’s are good it will drive the need to create alternative forms of trade so bypassing the tyranny they intend to implement through controlling the CBDC.

So I am in fact all for it … bring it PM’s, crypto all at the ready + goods to trade with/for. Also why I am going to drop my digital ID … poof and he was gone as I have no need to interact with the system so I can be lost.

I am also quietly optimistic. I hear people talking about the ‘sheeple’, but imho there has never been a greater wake up call than the actions of the political world in recent years. They are pushing too hard and too fast, those in countries not yet so affected are aware to what is taking place, keep pushing, I see a potential uprising which will bring a Reset to this world far better than the one being proposed and not in the favour of those proposing it.

We the People need to exchange goods and services as we always did by bartering or simple cash.

We do NOT need Satanic globalist psychopaths in some remote digital central bank spying on us and controlling every tiny detail of our lives.

How difficult is it to create our own banking systems?

STOP REGISTERING to vote for the globalist puppets and sock it back to them.
