On Tuesday, the UK’s Office for National Statistics (“ONS”) released data compiled using a new method that “will give us a better understanding” of excess deaths. But who benefits from publicising excess deaths using this “new method”? Who is it that will gain the most?

In a video tweeted on Tuesday, Julie Stanborough, ONS Deputy Director for Data & Analysis for Social Care & Health, explained their side of the story. It’s worth noting that previously, from April 2020 to April 2021, Stanborough was the Deputy Director of the Covid-19 Press Data Team at the Cabinet Office. Before that, she worked as a statistician for HM Revenue & Customs and Department for Work and Pensions.
“We’ve been working with independent experts and those across government and the devolved nations to develop a common UK-wide approach,” she said.
In an article, Stanborough gave a more detailed description of who the “experts” ONS consulted were:
The UK-wide excess mortality technical working group benefitted from expertise spanning many organisations and fields, with representatives from different areas of ONS, Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), UK Health Security Agency, Public Health Wales, Welsh Government, National Records of Scotland (NRS), Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) and members of the actuarial profession.
The new methodology is closely aligned with that used by OHID to estimate excess deaths in English local authorities and other population subgroups, and will be used by NRS and NISRA to estimate excess deaths in Scotland and Northern Ireland, respectively.

She noted that the new method is “in development” and will change when and as required, which perhaps allows for confusion and no meaningful comparison to previous periods. It would also provide a useful way to explain away any future excess deaths that they don’t want to be publicly known or independently investigated.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, we will regularly review estimates of excess deaths produced by the new methodology, with further refinements being undertaken if necessary. As such, the new estimates will be labelled as Official Statistics in Development while further review, testing and development work is undertaken.

According to the Office for Statistics Regulation, the label of “official statistics in development” can be replaced by the label of “official statistics” once the evaluation has been completed. The producer should have decided that the statistics are suitable and of public value and explained their strengths and limitations. The producer may wish for the statistics to become accredited official statistics to demonstrate their compliance against the Code of Practice for Statistics.
So, what has been the effect of ONS’ new “official statistics in development” data? They have managed to hide a large portion of excess deaths.
The “new method” has hidden more than 40,000 excess deaths that occurred in the UK during 2019; 8,500 in 2020 and 20,500 in 2023. By changing their statistical model, they have made the year of the pandemic appear more deadly compared to the years before and after, post the mass covid injection rollout. In other words, in addition to hiding important data from view, they have accentuated excess deaths in the year of the “pandemic.”
[For the UK as a whole], the new method estimates negative 34,408 excess deaths (that is, fewer deaths registered than would be expected) in the UK throughout the whole of 2019 compared with 6,006 for the current [old] method, a difference of negative 40,415 excess deaths.
The new method estimates 76,412 excess deaths in the UK in 2020, compared with 84,064 estimated by the current method.
In the latest year, 2023, the new method estimates 10,994 excess deaths in the UK, 20,448 fewer than the current method.

However, even with adjusted numbers, the “age-standardised mortality rate” is still significantly above the 2019 figure. The deaths in the covid injection era are excessive enough that they cannot be completely hidden.

What are they hiding? It most likely serves many nefarious purposes both comparing to historical data and preparation of data in the future.
But, as the new version of statistical illusions appears to have the effect of accentuating excess deaths during 2020, it would seem they are not too concerned about covering up the crimes that occurred during that year. Crimes such as the deaths caused by the UK state’s mass involuntary euthanasia policy using “just-in-case” drugs, including midazolam.
In a recent podcast, Radical discussed a new paper that found a statistically significant and very high correlation in 2020 between UK excess deaths and the use of the death-row drug midazolam used in the National Health Service (“NHS”) end-of-life care death protocol. “The paper’s author Dr. Wilson Sy pulls no punches, stating that these excess deaths were “wrongly attributed to covid” but statistically correlate instead to health professionals injecting patients with death-row drug midazolam, in what appears to be “a possible policy of systemic euthanasia” of our elderly and disabled in care homes,” Radical wrote.

Yesterday, Dr. John Campbell put out a video about this change in the way the ONS calculates the deaths.

Dr. Campbell said that he will soon be talking to Prof. Norman Fenton about this change in the statistical methods, so it is worth looking out for that on Dr. Campbell’s YouTube channel.
At 40 seconds in, he shows us the ONS document that explains how they have changed the calculation. Watch his expressions as he talks about it being “all fairly obvious and self-explanatory” and “I hope you are reassured by the transparency”. His face tells us what he is really saying. He cannot say it explicitly or his channel would be shut down, so he cleverly says things in ways that avoid a shut down but his viewers know what he really means.
In less than 24 hours, that video got well over a quarter of a million views, so Dr. Campbell is doing a very good job of getting the message out.
They can now tell Andrew Bridgen that there will be no more debates about excess deaths because it is a problem that has gone away.
I’ve just watched Dr. Philip McMillan’s video. I see that he referred to Andrew Bridgen and how this change by the ONS benefits the government.
I just can’t stop being awfully amazed at the number of people who are willing to be accomplice to this humanitarian crime.

John O’Looney says that pathologists are lying about the strange blood clots”. That was badly phrased as it gives the impression that the existence of the clots is a lie.
As an undertaker \ funeral director, John O’Looney felt obliged to report these strange clots to a coroner because they were very unusual and of a type that had never been seen before 2021. This is part of the reporting system by which information from undertakers helps coroners to be made aware of unusual trends in deaths.
The response he got was to be told that the coroner had spoken to pathologists who said that these clots were normal. John O’Looney is a registered embalmer with over fifteen years of experience and he knows that they are not normal. He has spoken to other embalmers who agree with him.

I hope I am right in saying that old calculation for excess deaths was to compare the number of deaths in a year to the average annual death rate for the previous five years.
Excess deaths this year = deaths this year – 5-year average.
Now they have changed to a calculation that nobody other than a top statistics expert can understand.
The complexity of the calculation (which Dr. John Campbell sarcastically called “fairly obvious and self-explantory” and “transparent”) is one element of their trickery and sleight of hand, but equally important is the change to using “expected” deaths.
They can state any number they like and say that is what they expected.
The only people I would trust to give a number for expected deaths would be bookmakers (who predict sporting outcomes to set the odds) or insurance companies (who analyse death statistics to set their premiums on life policies) but I don’t trust the ONS for telling us about expected deaths.
I forgot to say – the 5-year average is a real number, a factual number, but “expected” is imaginary, only opinion. The ONS is churning out fairy tales.
