In 2014 that the UK Government denied it was undertaking geoengineering activities and stated that, conversely, the Department of Energy and Climate Change had funding projects to examine the effects of solar radiation modification. 

In April 2025, it was announced that the UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency (“ARIA”) will be given the green light to begin experiments to dim sunlight, which could include injecting aerosols into the atmosphere or brightening clouds to reflect sunshine, for which the agency has set aside £50 million of taxpayers’ money.

Of course, its proponents market solar geoengineering as a beneficial and harmless way to address the manufactured climate change crisis, despite reports last week that hostile states could use solar geoengineering to “orchestrate environmental disaster,” which has caused UK Ministers to now prepare for a scenario in which a hostile foreign power could weaponise sun dimming technology.

Orchestrating an environmental disaster by their own government is the reason why the UK public is resistant to the Government’s chemtrailing operations, whether they refer to them as experiments or not.

On Saturday, 21 June, an anti-geoengineering protest, organised by Stop Geoengineering London, was held in London to raise awareness that many are opposed to UK government-funded geoengineering experiments, specifically solar radiation management (“SRM”).

Protesters were raising concerns about spraying particles to block sunlight, citing potential risks to ecosystems and health. Corporate media coverage of the protest was, of course, absent.

ARIA claims it is taking a cautious approach to the “experiments” that it is funding.  However, the only cautious approach is to ban them outright, as we will demonstrate below.

In 1996, a team of military officers wrote a paper.  In it, they referenced a study by William M. Gray et al. which concluded that carbon black dust could be used for weather modification.  Carbon black dust is particulate matter, a fine black powder composed of elemental carbon, produced by the incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products or other carbon-rich materials.  It is a toxic substance when inhaled.  It not only has impacts on human health, it also affects visibility, harms ecosystems, reduces agricultural productivity and exacerbates global warming.

Dr. William Deagle said he was the doctor for the pilots from the United States Department of Defence’s National Security Agency and Fort Carson who were flying the aircraft that were spraying chemtrails.  In a four-hour lecture given in 2006, Dr. Deagle said that chemtrails contain barium salts, mycobacteria, viruses, Pseudomonas bacteria and human plasma.  He said they also contain Morgellons, a silicon-based nanomachine life form “that is intelligent like bees or ants and it fights back.”

“The real goal of chemtrail-spraying is to convert the atmosphere into plasma for weather modification, scalar mind control technology, geotectonic warfare and other nefarious uses,” he said.

In 2012, MEP Oreste Rossi submitted a question for written answer to the European Commission.  In his question, he said, “From 1996 until now, there has been an increase in chemical trails, also known as chemtrails … The analyses carried out have verified the presence of the following elements in the chemtrails: barium, aluminium, radioactive thorium and caesium, copper, titanium, silicon, lithium, cobalt, lead, ethylene dibromide and several pathogenic agents.”  And asked, “Given that the effects on human health caused by the chemical trails … can the Commission state if it is aware of the effects of chemical trails and what the European Union’s position is as regards the objectives that are being pursued and giving rise to this phenomenon?”

The answer given by Mr Potočnik on behalf of the Commission said, “The Commission … has found no evidence for the claims made on the adverse effects on human health … The Commission has no knowledge of any deliberate releases of toxic substances, such as heavy metals or pathogenic substances from the ground, aircraft or otherwise that would be damaging human health.”

It doesn’t seem the European Commission looked very hard for answers.  In the following, we’ll summarise some of the reports of the toxic and pathogenic substances that have been deliberately released, which are not only damaging to human health but are also damaging to animals, insects and plants.

In April 2020, a Royal Decree published by the Spanish government in the Official State Gazette declared a state of emergency due to the covid pandemic and authorised the Armed Forces and Units and Military Emergency Units to use biocide chemicals via “arial” techniques.  In short, the Spanish government ordered the military to spray lethal chemtrails on its citizens with UN authorisation under the cover of the “state of emergency for the management of the health crisis situation caused by covid-19.”

In 2021, the United Nations became among those considering a controversial form of geoengineering, involving spraying sulphate aerosols into the Earth’s stratosphere to modify the climate.  A report by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (“IPCC”), published on 9 August 2021, mentioned solar radiation management and greenhouse gas removal as forms of geoengineering. Sulphate aerosols fall into the solar radiation management category.

A year later, in September 2022, UK researchers experimented with a solar geoengineering system called SATAN, which involves a high-altitude weather balloon that released a few hundred grams of sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere.

In a 2023 report, the UN Environment Programme (“UNEP”) also suggested injecting reflective nanoparticles or sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere (stratospheric aerosol injection) as one of the methods for cooling our planet by restricting sunlight and darkening our skies.

As noted by Igor Chudov, sulphur dioxide – the chemical of choice for both SATAN and UNEP – was a free by-product of coal and oil burning, emitted into the atmosphere until recent decades. Environmental activists and authorities concluded that sulphur dioxide (SO2) was a pollutant gas contributing to the phenomenon of acid rain and causing significant health problems.

In 2023, Dane Wigington discussed a report where researchers had tested samples of rainwater.  Extrapolating their test results to what is happening globally, they estimated that 40 million tonnes of aluminium, barium and strontium are being sprayed over land every year.

A few months later, Wigington was interviewed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.  One of the key ingredients in chemtrails is nanosized aluminium, he said, which is neurotoxic to animals and humans, and kills the root systems of plants and trees, as well as the soil microbiome.  According to Wigington, climate engineers have stated they’re depositing tens of millions of tonnes of aluminium nanoparticles into the atmosphere annually as part of ongoing solar radiation management programmes.

Intentional climate engineering or geoengineering – including solar dimming – has been going on for more than 70 years, Wigington told Kennedy.  And said the geoengineering projects of various kinds were already having severe impacts on weather patterns, our ability to grow food, biodiversity and human health.

Last year, Richard Vobes interviewed two pilots who fly in Europe and have been researching chemtrails.  They said that in various places in Europe, tests have been conducted on samples of residue left on cars and roofs.  Using mass spectrometry, several laboratories have confirmed that the main constituents are barium, strontium, aluminium oxide, various microplastics, up to 2% uranium and graphene oxide. “These tend to be the basic elements in what they’re spraying,” one of the pilots said.

Earlier this year, Peter Kirby said that chemtrails have a significant impact on the environment, including destroying the marine layer, changing weather patterns and harming people’s health.  He has collected significant evidence tying elevated levels of toxins like aluminium and barium in rainwater and air samples to geoengineering activities.  He also noted research conducted by Dr. J. Marvin Herndon, who has published peer-reviewed journal articles providing scientific evidence that coal fly ash is being sprayed, based on his analysis of environmental samples such as rainwater, air and soil. 

Coal fly ash is a fine, powdery byproduct resulting from the combustion of pulverised coal in coal-fired power plants.  Fly ash is primarily composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2), aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and calcium oxide (CaO), with the exact composition varying depending on the type of coal burned. According to Wikipedia, the minor constituents of fly ash depend upon the specific coal bed composition but may include one or more of the following elements or compounds found in trace concentrations (up to hundreds of ppm): gallium, arsenic, beryllium, boron, cadmium, chromium, hexavalent chromium, cobalt, lead, manganese, mercury, molybdenum, selenium, strontium, thallium and vanadium, along with very small concentrations of dioxins, PAH compounds, and other trace carbon compounds.

In May last year, Dr. Herndon co-authored a paper published in the Advances in Social Sciences Research Journal.  The paper presented scientific evidence, including rainwater and snow analyses, showing elevated levels of elements consistent with coal fly ash, suggesting its use in covert atmospheric spraying.  Data from laboratory testing of samples of rainwater and snow “strongly suggest that coal fly ash is being used in worldwide covert geoengineering operations,” the authors said.  They argued that the use of aerosolised coal fly ash in geoengineering operations is causing widespread environmental damage and poses a severe threat to life on Earth.  The paper stated that coal fly ash, dispersed into the atmosphere, contaminates the environment with mercury, depletes the ozone layer, disrupts the iron balance in nature and leads to various health problems in humans, including lung disease, immune system dysfunction, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.  The authors further assert that this practice is a major factor in forest fires, harms plant and animal life, and contributes to the decline of insects, birds and bats.

As an anonymous UK commercial airline pilot told Drake Michigan in a 2023 interview, “The two purposes for chemtrailing are very, very clear.  It’s to poison us and block out the sun.”  He then explained why he knows that the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the pilots know what they’re doing. “What they are doing is very contrived, it’s very wilful, and people say: ‘Well, I can’t believe the pilots know they’re doing it’.  Well, let me assure you – they do,”  he said.
